Really? I like them too but so many of their songs sound the same.
New Metric album is better :)

I miss the Yeah Yeah Yeahs "fiery art-punk image" :(. That sad, I do really like this album. It took me a couple of days but once I got into the new direction/musical feel, I realised that It's Blitz was nothing short of amazing.
Some of my favourite tracks:
- Zero
- Heads Will Roll
- Hysteric
- Dull Life
Gah, that's almost half the album! hahaha. Every track is a classic in the making. Love love loves it.
I'm hoping they come back to Australia. Haven't seen them live before and the stories I've heard are pretty crazy!
Marry me Karen O? hahaha.
Oh, and if Hysteric doesn't make you feel depressed that you're not in a relationship OR incredibly happy that you are in a relationship, I don't know what will! haha

I agree with that in relation to their EPs and first two albums. Superficially though. That said, third album sounds waaaaay different. Karen's echoy voice (I'm terrible with music lingo haha) is non existant in this track. Well, except for in 'It's A Dull Life'. :)

Hearts this album. Agree with above poster that at first I was missing the old stuff, but now think this new stuff is tops. Ah Karen...

Also I agree with above again, Hysteric is the standout track. It actually comes close to Maps territory, and that is saying A LOT.

Each song is amazing, each having a unique hook and the instrumentals are so loud and clear my arm hair stands up on end (try Dull Life)...cant wait to hear this album live. And Metrics new album is ok but seriously lacks balls.

I think CSS totally stole their thunder as the Eurasian-chick-fronted-trash-fashion-punk-art-rock band du jour

Nar - new Metric is awesome but it's nowhere near as solid as It's Blitz!

Pfft - I love CSS but they don't even come anywhere close to the YYYs - CSS are like a fun loving party band but the YYYs have substance. Lovefoxxx has never ever even come close to Karen's lyrics (especially Maps or Y Control or even Hysteric or Skeletons from the new album).
Also for people wondering about a tour - i've been told that they will be here for Splendour In The Grass in late July.

The Flaming Lips, The Specials and The Gutter Twins are all definitely playing and two strong rumours that i've heard are Jane's Addiction and Aphex Twin.
