a new gay bar?

a new gay night?

an influx of hot boys and girls to the city?

discounts for glbtq persons on public transport?

a group of glbtq people who met once a month to attend cultural events in and around Brisbane?

share your thoughts here!

I personally think the Brisbane scene is fun enough!

A new gay bar could be good... but would it just dilute numbers at the other venues?

I do think a venue in the city would be good. Why are relegated to just outside the city?

Fag tag type group could make things interesting. As opposed to "gay nights", as that is just a bit gay (in the 10 year old sense of the word)! Also to make it more interesting, the tag could be to go to GOMA or a festival (Caxton st seafood and wine is coming up) or some other cultural event as you suggested, as well as bars.

LOL! Could you imagine the uproar?

"He's a FAG! Why's he get it cheaper? " blah blah blah lol

I do think the city needs more gay venues, like cafes and stuff, kind of like 'The Moon' cafe in Perth.

I also think Southbank pool should have a gay pool party, scare off all the littlies with our sequined bathing suits.

Okay, well, maybe not the last one.

That would be hilarious! But they would need to change out the urine, sorry I mean water, before I get in to that cesspool!

In the city would be great... or somewhere that is not the Valley, or New Farm.

Maybe Westend/Southbank/South Bris would could be good...

I really like the idea of this. After going to the Milk culture club and the BQFF opening night I think a monthly (or so) culture event might be just what I need to get out more often :) Club scenes are just not me...

I went to a work event on the Island Party boat and it was hideous, music was crap and lots of bogans.
Would a gay one be good or just as hideous?
It would be nice to party up and down the river.

I thought that was the 'Wildboys' boat :p

Cool! Me too!

Same Same does actually have a culture club (which you can join up to for free by clicking here (http://www.samesame.com.au/group/Same_Same_Culture_Club))

Most of the Culture Club events are organised in either Melbourne or Sydney and it tends to be discounted tickets to things like theatre, ballet, cinema screenings, parties, etc.

Do you think there'd be enough interest in Brisbane if something cool came up?

a new gay bar? No, I feel where gay bars are situated already are safe and where most straight people can expect to see gay people being free or sort of free.

a new gay night? No, why change it really. That's Sunday right?

an influx of hot boys and girls to the city? No, because I will get jealous. lol.

discounts for glbtq persons on public transport? No, like what meezono4 messaged we're not disabled.

It would be so great to see Brisbane get it's own full time GLBT FM radio station like Joy 94.9 FM (http://www.joy.org.au/) in Melbourne.

I think the thing that is missing from the Brisbane gay scene is a gay bar where you can sit down and have a drink with friends and be able to have a chat and a giggle without having to shout over the top of music. Kind of like a lounge bar or the like.

There is 'White Wolf' parties for the 30+ crowd every 3 months or so, is there room for something of this frequency for the 18-29 crowd? If so, what sort of theme and where?

Agreed. Half the reason I avoid clubbing is because you can't just sit, chill and talk. Theres no point going out with friends if you can't understand what they're saying
