i just arrived back from working in melbourne for just over 2 weeks
one night in a lonely hotel room, i jumped on to check my email, and catch up with friends back in syd on msn. a mate of mine came on, and i told him i was in melb, he then asked me
'did you go to Cyrus' funeral?'
cyrus? i asked, i then scanned my comp for a picture of the only cyrus i know - and he replied
'yeh that's him'
i was stunned.. 'he died in his sleep'..
i immediately scanned through msn to find his email address, and looking into various sites like MYSPACE etc - because all i had was his mobile number, and it was saying 'disconnected'
I did a google search, and it was then that i started to sink in my chair, tears filling my eyes..
I came across a funeral notice on smh.com.au
reading friend of John - John was his boyfriend's name..
It sucks - I leave my city for 2 weeks, and when I return it will never be whole again..
I met Cyrus online, and we became good mates - but it was a unique friendship - he'd sms me (or vice versa) or all, and we'd get dinner, or coffee - i knew all about him and his life, cause we use to talk about life, love, jokes etc..
I met his boyfriend once during a dinner at my fav restaurant Govindas.. we said we should make it a regular thing..
Now I only have Cyrus' email address and mobile, and no way to reach out to John his boyfriend to see if he's ok..
And to top it off - I found out his funeral was a few days before I was told, and it was in melboure where his family was based - so I could have attended had I known earlier..
SO i guess I'm looking for anyone that may have know Cyrus, and that could possibly help me get in contact with John.
I guess this is also a good oportunity for others to vent, and reflect on how precious friendship and life is..
Coming home to Sydney, I've been quite numb lately, but I've been making every effort to tell all my friends I love them.. cause I wont get to say that to my mate..
