Does anyone know of any great places to go to in Perth?

Clubs, bars, any good restaurants?

There is one official gay club in Perth, http://www.connectionsnightclub.com/. We also have a pub (www.thecourt.com.au) and a few gay friendly venues (the brisbane hotel, and luxe bar for starters). Most places in Northbridge are gay friendly, you've just missed the annual Pride Festival that runs through the month of October, culminating in the Pride Parade and party on 27th October (there's photos on the front page of samesame right now).

In June i have to come to Perth for business at Claremont Showgrounds is there any hotels/motels close to that venue and is Claremont close to Perth city area?

I know this thread's a bit old now, but there's a GREAT new queer night in Perth - ZOO. It's on Sundays from 8pm at Bar Open on Willliam St (entry via laneway at the rear, most appropriately..)

Well, it certainly ain't any more! Connections is usually jumping, especially after midnight. Sexy without being sleazy, it's a great venue as they're always updating the decor, they have fab DJs now too (was a bit crap for a while but now the music is brilliant on the whole), and they have a roof terrace for smokers - bliss! Connections is HOT!!
