"The war in Northern Uganda has been called the most neglected humanitarian emergency in the world today.
For the past 23 years, the rebel army (LRA) led by Joseph Kony have been waging a war that has left nearly two million innocent civilians caught in the middle.
Approx 90% of Joseph Konys troops are abducted children. They come in the night and steal them from their homes or simply come in and murder their families in front of them and take them away. To hear these stories from the children is...well i dont even know if theres a word for it?
Tens of thousands of Ugandan children have been abducted into this army.
These children are stolen from their families, from as young as 5 years old. They are taken into the jungle where they are trained to kill by literally capturing people and havign these children torture and kill them. If the children cry or refuse, then they are also killed. The boys are brainwashed and trained to be violent murderers, the girls are put through the same process while also forced to be sex slaves to the army commanders.
In December 2008 alone the LRA attacked thousands of civilians, abducted hundreds more children, displaced over 100,000 people and murdered over 500. This happened on Christmas Day. And we all heard nothing? Im still trying to wrap my head around it. I guess id just like to really urge you all to come along on saturday, bring as many people as you can, because this is literally going to make history, and you can be a part of it."
