Hey my name's Matt - I'm 19, single, new to Sydney and I'll be starting a full time course in May. I'm looking for a room to rent or a place to share for 3-6 months.

Ideally I'd like a place as close to the city as possible (like 3-4 train stops). I don't smoke, I'm very clean and tidy, I eat healthy, and I would of course help out around the place (cooking, cleaning, ect.). I don't care about your age. I don't have any pets but I love them, especially cats.

Since I'm a student I can only afford between 150-180 a week. If you can help me out PLEASE get in touch - email me at mtraynor710@gmail.com and I'll send you my number. :)

might not find this helpful but if you have $180 per week you could get a place about a 20min train ride away from central. probably a one bedder, but still, you'd be on your own. If you wanna be near the city then go for a room share, but for me i'd rather have independence/freedom and be a little further away.

Thanks for that. Yeah you're right, I'd definitely prefer to have a room to myself, unless it was sharing a room with another gay guy because I'd feel too uncomfortable otherwise. Is that just some general advice or do you know of a place on offer?

general advice. if you go on realestate.com.au you should be able to find something though. I've just moved from Meadowbank to Redfern a couple months ago, and I was in a nice, neat, recently renovated studio 200M from the station and paying $160 a week.

the places are generally small, but I was single, and it was a great cosy little pad for me. it's just my opinion though, i'd rather be in a little place all on my own, than pay the same amount and live with another person/people and have to worry about coming home quietly, where i put my stuff, bitching to my friends that my flatty doesn't wash the dishes, etc etc.

If you need any help though PM me and I'll be glad to show you the ropes if ur new to the rental market. :)

Ah shit, a place like that would of been perfect to me lol. I'm actually moving out of home on the south coast to the city, so I'm completely new to the renting market, so thanks for the offer to show me the ropes. :) I would send you a PM but I'm not sure how haha

I just added you. Go to your homepage (at the top of this screen click on 'signed in as Matt710'). Click on 'Me' then go to 'My Messages'. Should be pretty self explanatory from there...
