Hi again GLBTI people and friends!
Just thought I'd let you know that there is a new GLBTI community magazine available for the NT. It's called Diversity NT. It is a free publication that will be released quarterly at this stage. A few of the topics covered in the first issue are:
Gay Rights - Human Rights
Same sex Marriage
Lesbian Health
NT Police Gay and Lesbian Liaison Officer (GLLO) Welcomed Support
Men's Health
Transgender Community
GLBTI Survey - ARCSHC
GLBTI Community Business Operators
HIV info and more
It can be found (so far) at the Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council (NTAHC) in Woods st, Darwin and at Absolutely Books in Cullen Bay. It should also hopefully be available at Charles Darwin University soon (if it isn't already). I'll let you know if it will be distributed to other areas.
You can also contact the NTAHC to receive it via mail if you live in a remote area. There is a small fee involved for this.
P.S. There was also an article requesting interest from Lesbian and Bi women in the Darwin community to forward ideas about forming a women's group that meets once a month for a meal and discussion in a cafe. Which I think is just what we need up here.
Please feel free to message me for more info, either with regard to the magazine, Darwin men's groups or about anything GLBTI related about the NT.
