Basically I have had sexual experiences with both sides but have never really joined the social scene. Except for my gay male friends birthday parties out :p

Hey Hels85 what area do you live in? I tried posting a thread asking for girls in my local area, and within a week I was meeting a great bunch of gals who all live locally. So you might want to try that, great way of finding some friends/partners. Good luck!

learn how to play pool and drink lots

that should get you started

*sarcasm alert*

seriously, scenes are over-rated - go out with a group of friends and try to meet some other club kids - you'll be fine that way

Thanx but I don't think my pool playing and drinking is gonna get me very far. I am good at both ;)

I'm cool with hanging anywhere around Sydney. Good music and good mates would make it a good night. Meeting another girl is hard when you don't hang around anyone else that is gay or bi.

hey Hels85
i had a similar dilema a few years back.... its best just to try a few things and then something will click and you will meet people and meet their friends and then make more friends trust me

how old are you??

ACON runs a program called "Ins and Outs" for 16 to 25 yr old same sex attracted women, its a 6 week program where you meet other chicks and discuss things such as coming out, safe sex, homophobia, drugs etc. Its really awesome i highly recommended it.

Also Twenty 10 runs groups for GLBT youth or the Gay Lesbian Counselling service also runs a coming out group for women, even if you are out to everyone its a way to meet other women and find out what they do to socialise/ meet people, in my experience the GLCS coming out group is a slightly older crowd.

There is also a Meet and greet thing at the Zanzibar ( although i have never been)
*the flying Bats is an all girls soccer team
*there is a group called the Bush Lemons (queer women who like to go bushwalking etc)

check out http://www.sapphicsydney.com.au it will give you some more options etc

best of luck

peace

Scenes especially become overrated when get involved in one and then go through a break-up within the scene ....

Scenes become overrated when they're all you've got. Generally thats when the break ups become messy - because you can't just not give a fuck and walk away.

Although I've only experienced this once, I've seen it happen to a couple of lezzy mates... and it's just SAD. Forget highschool - their behavior went back to preschool. It was so vicious, unnecessary and pathetic. Everyone involved got hurt it was laughable.

yeh agree with you and naughty..sux and gets really ugly

i also hate deciding where i want to go out then thinking - will they be there?

eugh..luckily enough i havent had much experience with this and hoping my last mistake will blow over easily, but we'll see.

i recommend going out in the scene and drinking to meet friends and dance

but meeting someone to 'love' outside of this

if you want a shag try gaydargirls

if you want mates well your here already

and if you want a real lover youll prob meet them through friends or a random event you never guessed would lead you there

There is also an active forum there, and we organise regular social meet ups.

which reminds me. We need to do another catch up. Somewhere NOT windy and involving more alcohol is my bet :)

Come up to the beautiful Central Coast, come out to the Woodport Inn or Crown Plaza Beer Garden.

(Looking glum) I want to come too.....
