Hi all,

The main support groups for same-sex attracted youth in Adelaide may soon be shut down because of funding cuts.

Adelaide Youth Health Service The Second Story run Evolve and Inside Out, two programs that have been going for over 20 years and supported hundreds of young people. Chances are you or somebody you know has been to one of these amazing groups and benefited from it, whether it be through support or just meeting new people.

There is a petition which I urge you to sign and share on Facebook/Twitter/etc. as much as you can. Not many people know about this so it's important to get the word out and make sure we save these incredible resources.

Any service that provides support to young people exploring their sexuality or coming out is valuable. Provided that is is inclusive and cost effective. This can be justified as an important community health issue. GLBTI young people have a higher rate of suicide. If we can reverse that then we should.

I remember my youth reluctantly and the internal conflict that I had. This could have been minnmised if there was such a service available for me.
