This is one of my favourite things to bake and eat. It never fails to please and surprise people who eat it. Mmm sweet potato pie... I once made it three times in a week. That was a good week.

I like making and baking a boiled fruit cake, I use the recipe from the Sunbeam packs of mixed fruit. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of sherry. Couldn't find any sherry to buy, decided to subsitute sherry with some rum (Bundy) I had on hand.
Epic fail, as much as I don't mind a drop of Bundy, this cake was uneatable and certainly could not be taken to the function it was cooked for.
Lesson learned, follow the recipe.
