Unfortunately being a "Junior"
(*starts chuckling*) member, I still can't post links. But if you google
"gay retirement village australia" ; scroll down and click on the May 2012 article
"Advocates hail Australia's gay retirement village/ABC Radio". Seems they're thinking of building this age care facility near Ballan in Victoria.
Interestingly. I had no idea
(pardon my ignorance) that although States have laws against discrimination on sexuality and gender identity - there are
no Federal laws against this discrimination! Can anyone enlighten me, please, how this can be and why it hasn't been rectified?
And although I'm not
quite in that age bracket that needs to worry about a nursing home just yet, (although a lot of the younger posters on same same make me feel positively prehistoric) I have to admit.......I'm thinking of travelling down to Victoria for a holiday.......and
if I happen to visit Ballan.......it's
JUST a coincidence!!!!!!!
