Any ideas?

Can you see the garden or the horizon? Juniper Hall was built to a fairly straightforward Georgian design.

Juniper Hall has the two Norfolk pines and I'm pretty sure it's the biggest one remaining of the type in Sydney.

(Does my new avatar pic. look like juniper berries? They're actually from my fabulous Blueberry Ash tree—it's two
storeys high!)

willow pattern china - I had a b&b for a donks age and that was the service I used - it brings back memories - you do not know how many times I had to order or find replacement pieces.

I've only three left from a suite of twelve purchased when I was with my first husband.

I bet you could tell a tale a two about your b&b days.

A little like them. I read that the ships captains used to navigate the harbour by lining up the two pines.

ah, first husbands...one always remembers their first :-) But tales, a lady never tells.

While running a hobby b&b part time on the weekends might be fun, doing it 24/7 is a hellish amount of work and leaves little prime time for socializing, although cash in hand is a loverly thing and among the odd assortment of guests there were some really, truly, lovely and interesting repeat guests who otherwise would not have been in my social circle and that I would never have met.

I'm posting this picture of Andrew Fisher here because I can…

…but also he's a reminder when the Australian Labor Party represented decency for the working people. The last decent ALP pollie in NSW was Andrew Refshauge who was told he had to shave his beard and was then ejected by the slime-merchants in 2005

I wonder. I wonder if there's anything to be learned from the fact that Vivien Leigh —that tempestuous beauty— and Evelyn Waugh —that fastidious master of prose— both died on the lavatory pedestal?

OMG I can see the needle marks inside the elbow!

This kid is obviously into Chinoiserie and Art Nouveau; I wonder if he collects Blue Willow?

I used to be into Art Nouveau, then I moved on to Art Deco, then Corbusier and the Modernists

Now, I'm timeless.

^ I don't know about being a bad influence but I reckon I've had 30 years of selflessness. And I admit I'm being appallingly geriatric and daggy in that I've bought one of those rubber hot-water bottles to keep me warm at night. I've been heaping my bed this last month with one wooly blanket, a cotton quilt and a feather-down bushwalkers sleeping bag and waking up consistently sweating at 4 in the morning.

At least today is the solstice and we'll be seeing more sun!

Perhaps you have some kind of exotic flesh-eating disease form one of your tricks?

I think you should shout yourself a proper new bed ensemble while the prices are so low.

I think this, I think that.

Should I buy a nasal-douche? Am I getting enough sun in winter? Should I eat a peach?

But it did include some wondrous, transcendental music~

Apparently Mr Williams was an avid cyclist. Some of us have to work for a living you know.
Lovely music.
