It's interesting to see those with the highest reputations (Mervotron, wysi and now Wonderland) are frequent posters in the 'Hot boys' and 'Post a GIF to a SameSamer' threads. Is this the key to getting a high reputation.

I think there are some SameSamers who like the 'likes' and it's boosts their ego. LOL!

Pfft...I've had my reputation on her go right up then back down...merely caz I didn't post 1500 posts a day to keep it happy with me. I also have been away for nearly a month so whether I do/don't have a good rep on here....I don't give a :P

I didn't realize till recently that the likes were being counted. If that "count" was taken away it wouldn't worry me. I do like getting the 'likes' cos they feel like a smile or a hug and they sometimes make me feel like being part of a big warm family. It's nice. So definitely not for ego

Yeah the counter is weird.

I was actually surprised to look over one day and see hundred of likes I'm like wtf?

I can see how easy it could be for some to let their ego's be fed, by such a function. On the other hand though, it at least lets myself know when people find one of my jokes funny or agree with what I've said etc.
“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so fucking what?”

Never thought the 'like' button would feed people's (hungry) ego.
I like the 'like votes in the same way Mac and Marko do. It's nice and it's like telling the person IRL you liked something he/she said or did or it's like laughing at their comments/jokes. The counter is not necessary especially when I realise it pisses people off when people they don't like get votes. Rubbish and very childish.

I really suspect if you didn't receive many 'likes' to your comments, you would be one person who would feel left out and wouldn't be contributing as much as you do on a lot of the threads.

What a strange reaction. I post coz I like the interaction on here with a few people, even the ones I don't share any opinions with.
How weird one would assume I am here to get plenty of 'like's.
Is that why you are here for? Jeez, never thought of it like that. Oh MrAsh, that is quite pathetic!
