Irishman? Been a long time since any of my relatives were in Ireland. You usually blame my lapsed catholicism.

Besides, several weeks ago you said you were putting me on your ignore list. Really, I don't mind - ignore away.
I'm a passive vegetarian. Cows eat grass. I eat cows.

I never said that, did I? I can't believe I'd say that unless you have a link to it.

Anyway, I don't blame people for being Catholic or Irish or ugly or autistic or whatever because that's the way they are. Just like I'm hoping no-one blames anyone for things they can't change. It's in their blood. It's just a tool for recognising people and understanding them.

Using outdated and inapplicable stereotypes is a tool for recognising and understanding people? Good luck with that.

Pity he doesn't use his life experiences in a more positive way.

I don't consider 'Catholic or Irish or ugly or autistic etc' as outdated or inapplicable. Someone can get plastic surgery but those other characteristics are forever. People can't change their blood or their heritage.

Not quite right...

"On 31 March 1965 Merle Thornton and Rosalie Bogner chained themselves to the Regatta Hotel bar rail to protest for women’s rights. They wanted to liberate public bars from being men-only. The two protestors were both mothers of two and married to university lecturers. They were refused service, the publican faced a fine of £10-£20 if he served them with liquor, but were bought a beer by sympathetic male patrons. Their action became the starting point for women's liberation in Brisbane. It is now recognised as one of the defining moments of the feminist movement in Australia."

Merle Thornton is the mother of actor Sigrid. I was well acquainted her about 20 years ago when we were both on the Board of a theatre company. Not an easy person to warm to.

Haha, that's the only post I like from you! Cool!
Shouldn't have chosen the bar but seeing as most men relate very easily to bars...

Churches should spend more time lobbying the government for tougher divorce laws!

What is worse? Being homosexual or making a promise to God than you will be remain with your partner until death and then leaving them a few years later.

I will leave that for your readers to decide!

Oh dear. Ammonite got the last word in this hideously long, gruesome and still unresolved thread.
