It's condescending and makes me furious. And why are men and women being referred to as 'boys' and 'girls'. It almost seems targeted at children.

I just emailed them this letter:
Hi,

I am aware of the Marraige Act as it currently stands, but I am at a loss of where children are mentioned? I watched your video from your website, and whilst it is visually appealing with cartoon people with boxes for head, I find that it is misleading... I do not understand where children are mentioned in the Act, nor the purpose of legally committing (note the lack of religion) to a relationship where children are the final result?

My own widowed 83 year old Grandmather married a man - when she was 83! How is their non-religious union going to bear children... there will be no more little 'boy and girls - with blocks for heads' happening there - she can harldy walk!! I'm sure there isn't too much mattress dancing happening there...

I would really appreciate an answer to these questions! You seem to be well informed as to your argument via this video - I am sure you will have something that explains the need for marriage for couples that are beyond child bearing years, barren/infertile couples, those who simply do not want block headed children (as you suggest).

This is where the "its about love" argument for marriage equality breaks down. Equality shouldn't be about love. After all, homosexuals should equally be allowed to marry for money, political, status, immigration and cultural reasons as well.

I have seen videos like this before... back in the days when I was at Hillsong. Simple, ignorant, self-serving and non-inclusive messages neatly wrapped up in shimmering A-grade malarkey. It's the way churches and religious groups convince people these days, with bright lights and top quality video graphics. God must be sooooooooooooooooooo proud...
