I'm from WA, USA and I'm going to be visiting my family in Melbourne in October and I'm wanting to find some gay nightlife. I've been to Melbourne before so I'm familiar with the area but last time I went I wasn't old enough to go out. I'll be staying with my family t I'd like to find nightlife that I can get to via bus, so preferably something in the city or near Malvern, St. Kilda or Wanterna since that's where the cousins I'm closest to live. well your in luck. To name some of the more common clubs, Gray hound is in st kilda, and if your in Malvern its not to far from Commercial rd in prahran where there are a few gay clubs.

I would recommend trams over busses (bus services in australia can finish fairly early)

Always good to jump on google maps and work out the easiest ways to get between places.

In my own experience, there are generally many events/venues to choose from in Melbourne (I'm comparing mainly to Sydney in my case). I was at a cool queer party on the weekend in Fitzroy/Collingwood called Grouse. Although mainly a lesbian night, I was there along with plenty of other gay men too so it made a great mix and a fun night. I'm from the Caulfield area so I can vouch for events up on the north side being a bit of a trek from Malvern etc. Generally worth it though.
