Paternal instinct? I don't know, why does anyone ever want anything?

As much as I find I have difficulty accepting myself, as screwed up as I am, and would like the family white picket fence thing. I would say no. I had no support as a teenager. And no concept of gay homo. Just being different vile evil. So if there was a pill , it should be a gay pill and every bigoted christian should be forced to take one to experience the hate and destructive they created.

we can not respond to that question except from our present gay consciousness - which in fact precludes us from saying yes to the question, unless you are a somewhat unhappy person and blame it on being gay, and probably wouldn't be hanging around gay chat forums. It is like answering yes to the question "are you asleep".

perhaps a more revealing question is "If you were going to have a child and had the option to take a pill to insure he or she would be born heterosexual, would you take it? " Is that not akin to asking would you take a pill to make sure your unborn child was born perfectly healthy ?

There may be some logic in lancealots response - that lesson about not judging a person until you've walked in his shoes

There are no wrongs. Just an exercise in perception. But I have found that perception can be truly blinded by a persons faith and belief which makes it near impossible to get through to them. ( and then you have myself who is where I should have been 20 years ago! )

What about 2 Wongs, an aeroplane, a mile high club card and a Wang thrown in just for good measure?

I like to beleive that my acceptance of being gay has helped shape who I am as a person in many other ways. I honestly think growing up gay allowed me to have a bit more empathy for others who don't have things simple in life as well as making me think a lot harder about who I am. I can't consider what a straight life would be like for me as (perhaps unfortunately) homosexuality is a distinctive part of what makes me me. So I have to say no.

That and trying to explain to all my friends and family that in fact I now like girls would be too much of a pain in the arse, and a waste of all that time and effort I spent coming out.

Hm, I'd much rather be a single gay man for the rest of my life than a single straight man, that's for sure.

If I was straight, I would be married to Sharon, wearing cardigans and paying off a second mortgage in Niddire.

So - no.

I am also content being a single gay male. I do not need a relationship. I also do no want to be straight. Happy with who I am. As the saying goes 'what does not kill you, makes you stronger'.

God fucking no! I have ZERO interest in females, nor do I give a shit how people view me simply because most people are not my equal.

I find heterosexuality to be a form of slavery and that I am lucky in having escaped servitude to it.

No wouldnt want to be str8 for anything. I could've been coerced into marrying a good Lebanese girl (although dad married an Anglo-Aussie) instead of the aussie boyfriend I have now. No dont want to get married or have kids (although its OK for those LGBTIQ people who do). Never really been attracted to the opposite sex, so would have to say a big NO!

Hell. No...

I can't stand the thought of being hetero, being into women instead of guys. I love everything about men, everything, I'm extremely happy with my attraction to the same-sex, and quite frankly I'd rather be shot in the head than 'turned straight'. My sexuality is my favourite thing about me, and it's a very important part of who I am. And I wouldn't want it any other way. If we could choose our sexuality like so many clueless fools think, then I would choose to be 100% homosexual when I wake up every morning. In this life and the next.

I was married to a guy for sixteen years. Wasn't entirely happy but thought, well, that's what life is, right? Then we split up (for reasons unrelated to this topic), and a few months later I met this woman and omg! I realised what was missing. I was not only with the wrong person but with the wrong sex. A woman's body, the curves, the way they feel, everything. omg. What she and I have is what I always thought a relationship should be. The one person who knows you better than anyone else, knows all your secrets and shames and hopes and joys, and loves you no matter what.

So having lived on both sides of the fence, I would absolutely choose to be lesbian 100%.
