Okay I was wandering where I can find out about joining like groups for people around there 20's (I'm 21). As I want to meet other lesbians in Melbourne. I'm not sure about clubbing as to how successful that is with meeting new people with similar interests to you. (Apart from drinking and dancing haha).

I've had a look at Melbourne Lesbian Guide although, theres rock climbing, bike riding and tennis, but I was thinking more like sports team like basketball, soccer etc... or arts (photography, music, dancing etc..) or anything else.

To be honest I don't know where to begin exploring the community for meeting other lesbians my age. I'm still in the process of coming out to everyone (3/4 of the way there) but I feel that I am ready to explore the community.

I heard that some bars (not sure which ones) have student nights or something but I'm kind of daunted by the fact I have no one to go with to check it out (I know I must seem like such a loner gah!) as the only friend I've told doesn't like going clubbing. Hence, my other straight friends are not that accepting of same sex attracted (why I haven't told them yet).

But yeah since I work odd hours (kind of hard to go clubbing sometimes), I was hoping if anyone knows of social groups or something of the sort where I can meet others around there early 20's.


P.s. I'm not sure if there is a thread on this or not, have tried searching and scrolling through but not sure how to navigate search bar.

Man I hear you on that. I'm not completely out either so socializing's difficult. Also sucks not having people to go places with. My straight friends are occasionally up for it but it would be easier to have les friends for that. The only good suggestion I have for you is meetup dot com - groups like LesBiAn Social Fun Club (it's not as lame as it sounds) have meetups fairly regularily

Hey, I've recently moved to Melbourne, have made some lovely friends but they're all straight - which is fine, but theres only so much of them going on man hunts i can take! I like to go out and socialise but havent got a clue where to start. I'm not a fan of going places (bars, clubs, gigs) on my own either - did it once, only lasted an hour, felt like a fool lol Where do i start?? any advice would be awesome, thanks

Hey bRid, ice been to grouse and it was alright.. They played great destinys child music that had me dancing. Not so sure about how friendly it is though, seems like a lot of cliques. Danceteria and crass! are still my faves so far but I don't think they are doing anything lately. I always miss closet but I'm keen to check it out.. I believe ill be going to these ones coming up!

I host a trivia night every Wednesday at The Wharf Hotel, home of Sundaylicious. It's trivia of the funnest variety, there are free drinks throughout the night, and I always play some pretty ace tunes (if I do say so myself!).

The vibe is always pretty sweet, but I was thinking that getting a team or two of lovely ladies would make it even better! If anyone's keen, I can book a table under my name (Kel) and y'all can just come along on Wednesday around 6ish for a 6:30 kick off.
