I wonder if the socialist alliance and other various self-serving organisations hijacking event for their own benefit, will actually talk about "marriage equality", or will they spend all the time there trying to whip the crowd into a frenzy about refugee advocacy, corporate greed, and most of all, anti-israeli sentiments.

The only things discussed were marriage equality, the surrogacy issue here in QLD, how people fought in the past for GLBTQI rights and how we just need to continue. That was it.

i always find these rallies so strange - you have these queer (not gay & lesbian) people getting really angry that they aren't allowed into a conserative heterosexual institution like marriage.

there used to a time when angry queer activists used to ridicule gay and lesbian people who wanting to buy into the white picket fence happy ending - but now those angry queer activists are the loudest ones shouting for access to marriage

.....to be fair though, angry queer activists are always the loudest at shouting whenever they've been outraged by something (like someone referring to women's clothes sizes as "ladies size") - but its still freaky weird that they are there.

i almost want to start up a protest about queers being at a conservative protest!
