Well as one of the Positive Speakers for week 3 of Start making Sense... I am stoked that you remembered the important stuff about 72 hours and the fact that there was this thing called PREP to take. Chin up dude take it as a lesson learnt and just remember that safe sex is the less embarrassing and easier option. And thank you for telling the rest of Same Same what the Start Making Sense workshop is about :D

"I received a number (it felt very ‘under the table’) to call on the next business day and book an appointment to look over the initial results of my blood test and be, as it were, my personal PEP counselor. I was also given my first week of PEP."

Appologies for my lack of knowledge here, but is this initial blood test designed to show up the beginings of the HIV virus being present in your bloodstream? Can conclusivly detectable HIV levels show up in a blood test 1 day after initial exposure?

^^ No, the first test is to determine the person's baseline status. Any new infection wouldn't show up for a few months.

That's a great article! I know many people do not know there is medication such as this. More education, especially in high school is needed.
