This sounds similar to my experiences of school as well. My bullies were believed, when I fought back, I came close to being expelled (If one girl would volentarily take on a group of highschool boys!!)

What got me through was also hope. I knew I was bright and things would be different when I left the country town I lived in. ....... And it was

I saw this at the Sydney Film Festival and it was such an emotionally powerful movie. It needs to have a compulsory screening in every school. The principal, who was shown on Sunday Night last night, made everyone in the cinema gasp with shock with what she was saying. She was mental! I highly recommend everyone see it, but bring a box of tissues!

and looks liek i mite relate to parts: got called into th yr 7 form masters office one afternoon with one of th ringleaders who were putting shit on me (after i told 1 of my friends that i liked dick - actually i suggested to him that after footy training we could "go behind th bushes and rub dicks together" i have never forgotten them words cos as soon as they coem out and i seen th look on his face i knew i was in trouble. i asked him not to say anything but of course it was all over th school within 24 hours) ... so fast forward a cpl of months, and heaps of beatings and shit later and im in th office and he says to me "what do they all call you" and i just had no words. i dont know if it was shame or what alls i know was i just sat there silent and then he asked th other dude and he said we all call him a poof. i was just mortified and couldnt wait to get out of there

i think at that point i just learned to bury heaps of shit

and fortunately i was a reasonable athlete so in th end that saved me and a cpl of years later i was in this hero role at school as a footballer and athlete

but iv never forgotten that day and can still see it like it was yesterday

and having worked now in child protection and with families for th best part of th last 20 years and having some gigs with really high needs teens i wonder how much, if anything, has really changed - cos theres still heaps of kids that are getting smashed at school

I was never initially interested, but this article admittedly has made me somewhat keen to see for myself.

As a person who was bullied a fair bit at school, I definitely want to see this film.

Funny. I think some of the teachers thought is was good sport to just sit back and watch and let it happen. Hope is just one of gods sadistic ways of keeping one around so they can be crushed over again.

I had to edit this. I was having a moment last night :( . I didn't mean badly talking down hope. Hope is all that is left when all self esteem and purpose is gone. Without it there is no way of getting back on top.

I guess I didn't recognize it as bullying at school. As such it was just an every day occurrence . Just try to be invisible. Think I will watch this one at home when it comes out :o

hate highschool time and it is hope saved me during that period of time, stopping that mind of killing myself, it is hope that is giving me something stopping letting meself down.
