so i use soem well placed expletives to describe what i think of a cpl of th housemates in big brother on that same thread

and at least 1 person gets really offended by it and reports it - but doesnt say anything to me - either via th thread or in a PM

so i get a message from matt saying th post has been deleted as it was over th top and ...... "posts like this increase our bad reputation"

hmmmmm - censorship

and yet theres continual threads with overt racism and transphobia

and trolls and clones with multiple accounts - but of course they increase th 'traffic' which props up advertising revenue (my guess)

Yes your post was reported to us and we took action.

So onto the other issues you raise...

We banned two people recently over racial slurs. One of them was possibly an overdue ban... but they're gone now.

Do let me/us know if there's anything specifically on a thread you're concerned about, we of course take racism and transphobia seriously. We don't always see everything so rely on people to report things they're concerned about. And we do take action over 'clone' accounts, whenever we see them. A few have gone in recent weeks.

We agree on much of this. I find racism and transphobia unacceptable also.

Sneakos I'm pretty disappointed that you didn't have the courtesy to contact Matt first and resolve your concerns off forum. Matt is a very reasonable guy and a private resolution would have been a lot more mature and respectful than a public conniption.

Also I'm surprised you complain about racism and transphobia on SameSame, yet fully participate in and praise Badamj2000's 'Me' thread with no concern about the overt racist, sexist and transphobic content. A bit hypocritical.

i did contact matt 1st and had a cpl of emails go back and forward

i simply stated in this thread that i was stunned that some swearing was reported - and th person didnt attempt to "contact me first and resolve their concerns off forum" - and then th language was deemed offensive enough to censor th post given other posts that are 'allowed through' - i wasnt complaining about racism and transphobia as an issue but rather that those posts 'stood' while mine, albeit with 'language' in it was censored

but it would seem that ss has a self appointed moral compass who sees their role as th great protector - i could make some guesses as to who that is and i dont think id need more than 1

You should be appreciative that SameSame does contact their member when comments are censored. A lot of sites don't even give that courtesy and just delete offensive comments or don't publish them.

SameSame is a very liberal site and allows a very cross section of views and even those which are controversial, yet this isn't the first time you've gotten upset over being moderated for very offensive content. Fair enough question, and I love those elephant in the room pics.

That thread became a lightening rod for racism and contained a post from a guy who said he would leave Same Same because of posts he'd seen on it. So we were troubled by that one. It's not very often we delete whole threads OR ban long-standing members but we felt it necessary in that case.

Anyway, I should've send you a PM about it when I deleted it. Sorry for not doing that.
