Medicare pays for eye tests every two. You don't have to go to an optometrist linked to a spectacle supplier. I like SpecsSavers and their 2-for-1 deals. Don't go for silly-looking frames. The Clark Kent look is back— which is good because it can give definition to the face of those who're losing their hair.

I'm still loving my blender to make fruit whips. I use carrots and oranges most freuently. but last night I added pears and zucchini for a wonderful 'wide' texture. It's so easy to make up my quota of 2 fruit and 3 veg servings per day

OMG, you remind me of that mad woman on the Vicar of Dibley TV comedy that makes the most unlikely combination cakes. You could look online for some normal recipes , just saying

I do covet your blender. Its a fab one.

Its about time I visited my eye-doctor again. Will I need a new script? Shall I trial a 2 for 1 thingo and be unfaithful to OPSM? I suspect the cheap lenses re of low quality. Most of the budget places have frames at like $150 +

why do you think that your higher priced lenses are any better? and the frames...aren't they all made in china or some other third world place... I would think either the lenses correct your vision properly or they don't. I think the frames are all about the look, not quality - and the lenses, I suspect, are all ground in the same places, much as lab tests are done in a few labs....

Quite possibly, Im suggesting that OPSM is quality, experience, and value for money and price comparable. Only the minority of frames at the budget places are cheaper. These cheaper frames may well be less strong , less pretty, less rust-resistant than the more expensive ones. I could in fact be wrong. I only have my feelings and suspicions and paranoia . I dont care where things are made as long as they are under franchise and went to nice schools. Ultimately, one gets monkeys if one pays peanuts. Perhaps some peeps like monkeys. I have pet fish myself. But, in all things buyer beware. NO, I dont have all the answers. I am fallible and human. If you do an exhaustive comparison, please feel free to share? Has Choice magazine done a comparison? One needs to subscribe to it apparently.

One would think they have lots of problems with their feet as they get older....but all that aerobic exercise and keeping down their weight must have some positive benefits, if done in a healthy manner and not by smoking and purging....

As long as the glasses correct my vision - and look OK - I do not care if they are made in Italy or in China, and would have no way of knowing anyway - it doesn't appear glasses are marked "made in..." . As I know from experience with sunglasses, it probably doesn't matter how well they are made, as they will get dropped, sat on, scratched, or lost before they every wear out... so I will go for good looking, less expensive, and plan on replacing them more often.

p.s. choice did a comparison and you can read it by googling choice eyeglass comparison.....it is tedious - I suspect one could be quite easily fooled into paying for things not needed or over paying for things one wants - as they say....
Paying a premium for a designer brand, however, does not guarantee superior quality. Luxottica manufactures many designer frames and applies many of the same quality tests to its no-name products, which means you can get a great-looking pair of glasses without blowing the budget.

I would not conspicuously buy a designer brand. I dont need someone to style me. I wear the glasses that I like the look of. Like you, I am open-mineded and cheap ( I mean economical). I am not an expert. If you really loved me , you would have posted a link to that Choice site. As you didn't, I can only presume the worst.

I once paid $2000 for a pair of specs. But they lasted almost ten years.

Joan is doing it in a Californian manor whereas poor Margot did it in an quite unhealthy one in Panama where she died.

For years I've said I hated pot plants— 'They're too tricky', 'a plant in a pot is like an animal in a cage!' Yet, yet every spring time I repot my terracottas to cope with a difficult position. I've got six unshaded concrete steps which just need some ornament.

I survived uni with the help of pot plants - I have always held great affinity for them :-)

They may have gotten me into some difficult positions, but I just made the most of it- when in Rome, do as the.... ;-)

I must say I'm not getting much excited by this years Big Brother.

That was made obvious to me a few weeks ago when I had the thrill of sharing five minutes of chat with 'Farmer Dave' at the Gay Picnic at Parramatta.

(I took the photo; I don't know who this Police Lesbian is.)

He is very charming and tactful up close.
