Nobody dreams of being a health economist when they're growing up, but that doesn't mean I don't give a damn fine blow job.

Or have I misunderstood the point?

I'm not sayin that all sex workers are ethical. I'm sure there are plenty of them who pray on lonely men. But there are plenty of unethical people in lots of jobs. Sex work isn't the problem. The unethical person is.

Okay, I see your point, JayTee.
My point being is that a prostitute would never bring their work life home with them and brag about it - especially to their partner - because of the perceived betrayal of emotional connection that they have. Jealousy would rear it's ugly head and arguments would arise.
I am in awe of life partners of sex workers who don't have an issue with their beloved selling a service involving sex. Mentally they'd have to detatch themselves from what their partner does at work and concentrate on fostering trust and intimacy with them - that would be difficult because as Mama Catastrophe has said earlier intimacy can sometimes occur with regular clients and fondnesses can eventuate between sex worker and customer.
Such a delicate balance. I wouldn't be able to cope mentally with my lover or life partner being a sex worker. It would do my head in. What if they were to fall in love with a regular client? Scary.

I think it depends on the kind of person you are in a rship with.

Some people wouldn't have a problem with it.

I would. But i am possessive and jealous when it cmes to serious rships.

But there are plenty of jobs people don't come home and brag about. Let's not single out sex workers on that point.

Also I think it's more likely that a client of the sex worker would fall in love with them, not the other way around. I mean how many people can you fall in love with where you can pay them and they'll have sex with you? Might lead to quite a bit of stalking. Occupational hazard i suppose....

Wow. Is Vlad defending me? I'm flattered even if its only on the off chance that is the case.

MyBoyfriendIsGay: well at least im being honest about my human limitations. And that the first step to a good relationship. A rship based on falseness and denials is no rship at all.

Ps. Your = possessive term.

You are thinking of "you're" ( which is the condensed version of "you are"). ...where is the English teacher when you need her?

It seems that he's indiscriminately trolling. He was having a go at Flounder and then I guess he didn't get enough of a rise, so now he's having a go at you. He's saying jerky things in other threads too. Just being a nasty pest really.

No I'm not.

People come on here with their opinions and I come on here with mine.

Are you telling me being possessive and jealous is a good relationship, no it isnt.

I am just giving Jaytee a heads up on something he should have learn't in his early 30's

Don't you think I have been in possessive and jealous relationships, been in them, seen them and seen that they are not very good.

Were you in a possessive and jealous relationship whilst you were a sex worker?

Wouldn't it be better to be aware of your own limitations so that you could avoid the triggers that set you off? Or is it better to go in blind and just hope for the best?

I think in some instances the sex worker/client relationship can be a 'forced intimacy' where the prostitute is 'performing' for the client to create the illusion of enjoying themselves. Why? To increase the opportunity for an on-going 'relationship' that may turn into real intimacy.
Does that make sense? Some clients may feel 'possessive' of 'their' sex worker that they may hire often and for some this may be 'therapeutic' because it gives the illusion to the customer of being in a 'real' romantic relationship. Make sense?

They provide service, service it is about what customer want , isn't it ?
I respect sex worker, they are better than some trashs, at least some of them are working rather taking doe

I disagree with the concept of "forced intimacy", because ppl were told it is service for money.

There are some ppl would say anything to get laid, some fall for it, and then become one night thing . Force intimacy?

Does anyone think that sex workers are in fact the experts of their chosen profession? After all they have seen and done in regards to sex surely they must have a wealth of knowledge and skills to draw on? I know a couple of high end escorts that have had clients come to them for lessons on how to please their partners in bed. They have also mentioned instructing those who have recently recognised a new sexual preference be it gender or act specific.
Food for thought...

I think, that just like lots of other professions, there are people who are good at their job and people who are bad at it.

There are great lawyers, and bad ones.

There are great marriage counsellors, and marriage counsellors so bad they can't even keep their own marriages in tact and happy.

I have no doubt that there would be sex workers who are experts in the art of sex. But there would be just as many who are just average at sex, others who know the art of ripping people off and getting away with doing as little actual work as they can get away with (just like LOTS of retail workers!), and would be workers who do it because they have no other marketable skills, and yet others who rely on being pretty to do their job.

One of my ex's was an escort ,it didn't bother me at all except he wouldn't contribute to the running of the house and kept buying thigh high leather boots.

I wouldn't pay for it at this point in my life. Further down the track, who knows where I'll be?
I'm friends with both a female and a male prostitute. Lovely people. One takes home $3500 a week av.

Here's an interesting article from todays SMH (11/11/12) about people with disabilities using sex workers.
