Hello. I will be visiting Melbourne in July. My schedule leaves me quite a fair bit of time during the day (until 3pm every day), and I was wondering what are good gay sex venues which are open at this hour.

Are you staying in the CBD supersexe?

There is Subway sauna on flinders st just a couple of blocks west of flinders st station and its open 24 hours.

There are other SOP venues around melbourne's inner city suburbs such as Collingwood and Prahran but I'm pretty sure they are not open 24 hours unless its a weekend.

Checkout some of Melb's gay newspapers such as MCV and Melbourne Star Observer for SOP listings.

I wouldn't recommend going to subway. The clientele is really atrociously gross now. Sooo many old old oldddd guys and just no one decent at all. the facilities are good but the people there are disgusting. sometimes I wish it was empty n I can use the facilities like the sauna and the dry sauna. The ufos that goes there n try to touch me are just vomit inducing.

Is this view about subway shared by everyone? Is there any other lunchtime sex places? In Sydney, they have Sydney City Steam, which is quite busy at lunch time. Is there any place like that?

There's Wet on Wellington in Collingwood, Ive heard that, this place is really good. And theres 10plus in Prahran.

Ok here's a run down of the locations:

Subway Sauna - CBD : Modern, clean, great facilities, spa, sauna, steam room, smoking area; open 24 hours, attracts office workers especially after 5pm, and tourists staying in the city.

Wet on Wellington - Collingwood : Modern, great swimming pool, spa, sauna, steam room, outside area, semi-Roman atmosphere, attracts lots of locals and visitors to nightclubs as located near Smith Street.

55 Porter Street - Prahran : Dated sauna, one of the originals, very wooden/sauna atmosphere, reasonable facilities, great for the local gay community and visitors to local bars, crowd varies.

Club 80 and 10plus are both sex on site venues, not saunas, the first located in Collingwood near Wet on Wellington, and suits the more mature generation and 10plus in Prahran is a couple of doors up from 55 Porter Street and is a house with sex on site facilities catering to a mixed crowd.

I think that pretty much sums up the venues.

There are many other gay saunas in areas like Elstenwick, Seaford, Caulfield etc, though this listing is mostly about inner city saunas.

One of the Staff members at 55 Porter Street is incredibly bad tempered and rude.

Oh can I also add, yesterday, wanting to escape the harsh winter cold, I visited Subway Sauna after work, and I have to say, the steam room smells REVOLTING! Like mould/cum, who knows, but it smells repulsive, they seriously need to maintain that facility!

I'd be interested to know just how busy 55 Porter Street is these days. Sadly Commercial Road's no longer the Gay Strip it once was, it's pretty much dead for all things Gay. In past years most of the Guys who frequented Porter Street (especially on Friday and Sat nights) had come directly from one of the Gay Commercial Road Venues. It's main attraction was the convenience of it's location.

Not meaning to belittle the contributions of Office Works or the Olive Store, but Commercial road is pretty much dead for ALL THINGS fullstop. Gay or otherwise, the once happening strip is mostly abandoned outside of market days when its just shoppers crossing the road to the carpark behind Coles and Woolies.

Apparently the long running Gay owned Clothing Store "Bang" has shut up shop and re-located to Sydney.

Bang has always been in Sydney! The owner closed the Melbourne store since It wasn't profitable, and had some staffing issues as well. Mind you I stopped shopping there since I could get my preferred brand of clothing from the USA for half the price.
