Hmm...I think it's close Cami, but it's poetic prose so not very straight-forward. With the use of "tengo (I have)" instead of "tiene (it has)" it could also mean:

"My love, to have or not to have an owner (male or female), I have never spoken of this subject and so it's better that we don't."
