QUILL UPDATE:

Last week's meeting was really very lovely! We're welcoming our newest member marina, and unfortunatly getting ready to say goodbye to myself, having only 2 more meetings left till mid sem (yes, yes, I'm moving to adelaide!).

SO what's been happening you ask? Well we're currently watching queer documentories about religion, we;ve covered christianity, some of islam and yet to do judiasm (the only three which have put out docos). So next meeting will be this coming thursday 11th of Feb, 430pm as usual at (hares and hyenas 63 Johnston St
Fitzroy VIC 3065).

The next book we'll be doing is called "closets are for clothes" it's a history of queer australia, and it's a brilliant book, giving an insite into not only queer history, but the way that australia has developed over the last few hundred years!

Hope to see you all at pride tomorrow and if not then at QUILL on thurs!
Gimmi a buzz if you wanna meet up before or after (meeting at 1145 at flinders, email is jessi_zimmerman@hotmail.com).

Cheers
Jess

Hey QUILLtastic people,
Guess what? Thursday (18th Feb) is my last meeting (till uni hols) sigh. (This whole moving to adelaide thing is rather inconvenient!) So I expect everyone to be there (unless you have a really REALLY good excuse!)

What are we doing do you ask? Well we'll be watching some more Queer Doco's on religion. discussing closets are for clothes (although don't know if we'll get to that/if people other than bek and I have actually read the book!) and just chillin and drinking coffee as usual!

Sorry this is so quick, but i'm just not in the right headspace to be doing this properly,

Have a fantastic few days guys, see you on thursday if not before!
Cheers

Hi everyone, just wondering if QUILL is still on? I used to live in melbourne and kept up with the books via this forum, but it has gone quiet... I have now also moved to Lorne on the Great Ocean Road, but would love to keep reading with everyone...
If it is still going, would love to add someone on MSN so I can keep reading...

It would be good hey. Im someone looking to get myself back out there in the gay community, and something like this could be nice.

Hey folks,

A lot of people are asking if this Queer Book Club thing is still on and we get no repsonse in the affirmative so was thinking if we start a new one.

Message me and let's see if we can get a quorum, a date, a place and proceed from there.

I've been trying to organise for months to start up a queer book club with a few mates (after being unable to find one to join).

So finally here it is:
We're meeting at Flinders Street station at 4pm (made it that way for people who are at school/uni/work etc) on Monday Aug 10th. We will then subsequently go down to hares and hyenas (the queer book shop in fitzroy) to get the ball rolling.

Let me know if people are interested! The more the merryier!

We'll read books on everything queer! Whether it be history, romantic ficton, education or just queer themed!

Take care,
Jess (Clearly from melbourne!)

Hi... Sounds like a great idea!. I've started writing my own gay _romance_fiction so a group like you invisage would be a great help. Unfortunately! I live down on the Mornington Peninsular so cant really make it up to Melb. Do you plan any feedback from your meets. How can I contribute?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone is still interested in meeting up to discuss books or to workshop any writing that we may have done.

i'm up for a meet, what's going on with the original book club? if that's on hold, we could just all get coffee together one day and talk books. i'm supposed to be writing as well, but i've got writer's block (again..).

Hey Zimmo. Great idea. I would also be interested but also don't finish until 5.00 and by the time I go into City. Let me know if you organise another later time. Well done in organising it. Really hope it is successful for you. O

Hey guys,

If you want to read a latest book on queer, there is lots of books available on internet. Recently i have heard about Ghost of Stone Wall by Alderin Ordell who has completed his MA in Psychology from San Francisco.
