To start with download this information sheet.

http://www.qahc.org.au/files/shared/...tsoutthere.pdf

While its designed for younger guys it will stop you making the mistakes all guys seem to when coming out at a later stage. Read my profile and you will understand mine.

I created this website to help guys like you.

http://www.brisbanegayandlesbiancommunitylinks.com

Its a little outdated regarding coming events but everything else is ok.

Visit the http://www.qahc.org.au website to understand the risks and benefits of your new life.

On the Gold Coast you have MPs nightclub. Club R, The Den and the Club Catalyst.

At the sex clubs you just ask at the front counter and they will tell you everything.

As you are new to gay life I seriously dont recommend beats, they are illegal, dirty, dangerous, and you are exposed to situations you dont want to be in. One friend has been raped at a beat. Yes while it may be exciting to do it there, its not appropriate.

If you have a wife or girl friend, then consider very carefully what you are going to do. Firstly you are cheating, you are disrespecting her and potentionally putting them at risk with STIs. Then there is the psychological problems of guilt and shame you will feel by leading a double life. If you dont feel those then you already have mental health issues and theres nothing going to stop you getting what you want at anyones expense.

If you feel you cannot talk to them about what you are going through then you shouldnt be in the relationship anyways as it not working. Effective communication is the corner stone of a healthy relationship. If you intend to be selfish in what you want, then you should have balls to become who you really are, as once you have tasted male bonding there is no going back and.....

try not to fall in love with anyone under 23, you will just have your heart ripped out....lol

lol.. i used to the love beats, but not public toilet ones.. There are some very active parks in Brisbane that, especially in summer, get crazy busy...

and yes they are illegal and can be dangerous... but to a lot of men this is their first homosexual encounter.. if you do want to use a beat you need to keep your whits about you, and be aware of the situation and the environment.

i dunno i'm just cautious about giving out too much info to new comers to forum sites...
you never know what they're trawling for. that, and his rebuttals in the chat & gossip forum where he has posted the same requests don't seem to get a reaction so i'm a bit suss... let's just see what ringo says...

oh i get that hazy

i had many a question too

i just dont think this is the right forum necessarily to be asking and answering such questions

i mean, if you look at a few of the responses
it could get people into difficult situations

i know of people who were targeted and got into legal trouble for some of their confessed activities etc

I understand your paranoia Kylierose, as to what I may be trawling for.....however, where does one go for advice? I came here because it seemed like the most appropriate place to ask questions, people have the option of sending a private message if they choose, that way it doesn`t have to be out in the open....but isnt that what the gay community should be striving for.....to create a culture where everyone can just be themselves and not have to hide or keep things under wraps? So far so good, I have many questions answered by some really helpful, and understanding people.....hopefully oneday I can return the favour and help somebody in my situation with advice. I didn

yeh, i know that you never can be too careful... like i said, was waiting for a response

it's funny you know, an old friend of mine ended up in a near-dangerous situation by agreeing to meet up with someone he met in a chat room - turned out to be not just one person he was meeting... so there you go

anyways, sorry to hijack the thread with my paranoid thoughts...

I was all excited to see a Gold Coast thread, and then it turned out to be about beats...shouldn't have gotten my hopes up!

Ringo, I'm sure you've received the information you were looking for already, but I have two bobs to chuck in

I came out when I was 23, which is not even a year ago. I was so eager to meet with guys and experience being with someone to the extent that I was willing to put myself in some pretty dangerous situations.

I think it's difficult to hold back, especially since sex is so easy to come by in the gay world, but I feel like you need to exercise some caution. While I'm not saying 'wait until you're in a relationship', because you don't have to want that sort of thing, I'd definitely advise against going out and boffing the first guy who drops his dacks in the bushes.
