I really shouldn't be commenting since I'm not technically on the gold coast, being over the border into NSW, no matter what the local property developers would have you believe. Coolangatta is my local airport, if that counts for anything, but really I don't know places in the goldie, and I don't actually go there all that much

i went to Gold Coast Gay Day and Escape this year You guys seem to know how to have a good time =)

Actually Gold Coast Gay Day is but a shadow of it's former self these days, the last decent one was when it used to be at the Pink Elephant in Surfers before they sold it!
It was extremely well put together back then and drew big numbers, not much can be said for it these days, as the people just don't go....

You are not the only one, young Ringo. Here I am at 63, also a straight guy but looking to meet some new people that I may be able to interact with. Later tonight I am tempted to visit The Den at Broadbeach. It will be the first time that I have gone past the inner door. Even now I am not sure if I will be able to take that step or if I do so, feel relaxed on the other side.

drinking kind of excludes non-drinkers

we could go to Currumbin Rock Pools (live right near it, never been, wtf)

we could hit up Robina for Max Brenners and a movie

BBQ at Burleigh/Broadbeach/Surfers? beach bbq seems pretty simple

that's as far north as i know, but i'd be willing to travel

and arc: those are all great ideas. since you know the south end better, and I happen to live at the far south end, lets go for something at currumbin or robina. chocolate and a movie sounds like fun, or even just a casual meet-up at a cafe for a first go.

arc those are great ideas! i have never been to the rock pools either and would love to check them out! but max brenners sounds great as well! anything really aye, i guess like faeriegoddess said it would be great to even just touch base with everyone.

could be that the weather changes by the time we get there, but currently I'd say that anyplace airconditioned would be lurvely!
