The gold coast to me is a funny strip!! i find it so very transient and a bit dodgy...

Mind you i always tend to have fun at MP's..

A samesame member of staff is heading up for a holiday on the coast soon.. where should he check out and what should he do?

It is a bit of a dodgy old joint, the glitter strip! Geographically I think the place is perfect, there's so much to see if you're into nature like me.

If you like good service at a cafe, forget it - but as a bonus, beautiful men will always be walking by!

As for MPs, I've only been there a few times, and by far the most fun time was last Friday - I'm not sure why, I think the music was awesome....oh right, a gorgeous Norwegian boy! :P

I'm biased, but I love the spit, the indoor rock climbing place in Burleigh, the Japanese Restaurant in Surfers called Bistro Lamp (or try Donto Sapporo down the road), Springbrook or Mt Tambo.... there's heaps.

Further down the Coast is a lot more relaxed and more "local" to some extent... around Burleigh, Kirra, Coolangatta etc... Point Danger is a great spot for perving on Surfies!

If you steer clear of the tourist zone the GC has a great lifestyle to offer

The perv factor is way better in Burleigh!

Hazy, I think the further south you go, ie Burleigh and Tweed (which is not the GC but whatever!), the nicer it gets. I'm sure the rest of the Coast was as beautiful at some point.

If you go south of SUFERS itself there's burleigh miami etc etc which isn't sooo touristy, Much friendlier and where the locals tend to go.

I have stayed at Tweed Heads and Colon-gatta before

Tweed was nice-ish..

saying all this im not much of a beach person.. i mean i like to look at it.. but im not so much a 'lay in the sun an bake your brains' kinda guy .. so this could be one of the reasons im not a fan of the GC?

The gold coast would be better if it had more than just one GLBT night club, because for example there is no beer on tap and only a limited selection of drinks to choose from.

Hiya!

GC resident here: Surfers to Southport's pretty dodgy and/or stodgy, Broadbeach is slightly classier than Surfers, Mermaid Beach to Coolangatta tends to range between dodgy to nice and cruisy. Please don't ask me about the nightlife; I have none. If you're looking for nice, non-beachy places, I recommend the Hinterland if you don't mind a bit of a drive. Springwood, Mt. Tamborine, Northern NSW... Mind you, the walk along Burleigh Headlands through the national park there is amazing, even if it involves a sea-view.
