If you do a search on Google, there are heaps of programs that can do it, as well as web pages that will enable you to download a flash video (FLV) file.

Real Player also allows you to download Flash Video from various sites as well.

FLV Downloaders work by intercepting the .flv file before it reaches your browser.

So any download manager you have setup to catch .flv files it should pick it up no matter what type of site it is.

Yes, there are heaps but I want to know which ones people have used and recommend. Is there any risk of getting sprung by youtube and denied service (as downloading is a violation of the user agreement). Life without youtube would be unliveable!!!!

I use Internet Download Manager for Windows.
It adds a little bar to every flv video in the browser which gives you the option to download, or hide the bar. So it plays the video but then allows you to download as well (it remembers the address)

Alternatively, you can set it to intercept the file.

I download heaps of videos and clips for shows and I use this site...

www.keepvid.com

Just enter the URL, hit download (sometimes you need to do this a couple of times) and then select which quality file you want to download. Then you just save it wherever you want.
