I just wanted to know whether there are any plans to implement another privacy level in the near future?
I have been blogging for ten years, so I know that if you 'post something on the internet it is not private'. However, I would dearly love to see a setting between any nutjob on the internet being able to read my complete profile, and the next setting down of being a complete privacy nazi.

Surely I am not the only one who would like a setting in between the two, where anyone logged in can read your profile but it doesn't get indexed by search engines, etc.

I know someone will prob tell me to set my profile to private, but then why have one? Not having the option makes me seriously reconsider my decision to join.

Does anyone else agree?

i didn't even realise that just anyone on the net can view my profile!? if that is the case i'd definitely support the case for a setting, whereby only logged in members can view it!

Hmm, it is a bit more complex than I initially thought.
My browser opens tabs directly to my profile page on opening, among many others (ah, tabs), but not logged in. However, after signing out and having a play you cannot search for profiles or anything without being prompted to sign up/in that I can see.
But, if you can view the profile without being logged in directly then I am guessing it is being crawled and cached as well... that depends on the site owners/servers/programming.

I probably sound a little paranoid; I really am mostly an open book, just sensible. I like to have a clear understanding of exactly what information is, and isn't available publicly. Because unfortunately, the world is not always a perfect place. I have a fairly heavy footprint online which is only getting bigger (like a lot of you prob do); and I dance a fine line with the collective information about me across a lot of different places. So I like to be clear.
