I'd rather die of pesticide poisoning than see cockroaches. I have about 24 baits on the go at any one time here as well as regular bombings.

Yes you should buy your PC components ASAP and get your computer up to speed.

My friend just bought a new one with Windows 7, 1tb hard drive, 4gb ram and a 1gb video card. I've spent three nights this week setting it up and installing all the software from his old PC. He's now got to get used to Windows 7, Office 2007 (with the ribbon interface) and a whole load of other stuff.

But he now has an up to date PC that should last him about 5 years. So come on Adam, get your new parts, install them and surf and turf the net with the fast crowd!

Exactly.
And you will be happy with your purchase.
It will do the things you require.

Also- you work now.

But i dont want to spend too much. I resent the 'cartel' aspect of IT companies. I may have to spend $600 - Quad core and 4gb DDR3 RAm, good video card. 1 Terabyte Hard drive, new DVD, Assemble it myself and cross my fingers. New case too and new 500 watt power supply. I will still use XP operating system . I need new anti-virus . IT all mounts up.

I HATE bug spray. I should have done it in the morning and gone out. I have the windows open now with fan on

Adam if you're plannning on spending that much why don't you just give in and buy a whole new system instead of stuffing around with spare parts? I'm sure you could get a decent set-up for that amount of money without having to run all over Sydney and stressing yourself out so.

What does Mummy advise?

I guess while you haven't done anything about your computer, you can keep bringing it up and we can all keeping talking about it and keep making you the centre of attention

And you know I say that from a place of love.

Its a jungle out there in Computer land!! Im sure you just go to Harvey Norman and throw money at them. I'm deeply hurt by your inference that I may be in some small way creating dramas and cutting myself just to get attention. But thanks to you all of your help. It may sound silly and petty but its a big deal for baby as he is a regular church-mouse at the moment. I'm taking my time . Im learning from the experience.

OMG, is that the sun? Im as white as a sheet. Rickets. I must have a power-mince around Centennial Park or cycle today in the open air and sunlight.
Im doing a load of the washings and changing fish tank water, if you must know.

You are such a naughty attention seeking little boy. You should be taken out the back by Tim and spanked severely!

Anyway, Hardly Normal? No, I never buy from them. I love their catalogues - I read up on what's available and then go to a proper shop and buy what I need for a significantly fairer price.

I find those computer shops at the Capitol Centre at Haymarket have great bargains. Also, if you check very very CAREFULLY, occasionally Officeworks will have bargains.

My friend's new PC was from Officeworks, it had just dropped a hundred bucks or so and was the right price with the right specs. He also wanted small form factor which limited his choices.

Apart from that, I occasionally line up like a lemming at MSY at Ultimo and buy their offensively cheap products. My current monitor was from MSY - $154 versus over $200 everywhere else.

My next purchase will be a printer - I've just had a clean up and thrown out 4 printers/multi-function centres/lasers. I want something nice that does it all-in-one and is reliable. I feel a Canon purchase coming on.

Anyway dear, good luck and I hope you get what you want and that you can put it together successfully.

Thanks for that. I totally forgot about MYS. They are reknown for being cheap. AND they are local. I will visit them next week.

OMG the police came to my building - domestics. Drag Queen and Russian man having issues.

I may have been to The Metro today. I window-shopped in Kmart for some bogan drag then bought some provisions from Aldi. I had to wait for 30mins as a bus didnt eventuate as per the timetable. I avoided the rain.

Kmart had cute little 20l fish tanks for $75. I ate some sushi in the food court.

I came home to the horrid stench of hashish in my stairwell. I complained so that so that all could hear behind their guilty door/s. I then opened my balcony door and placed the fan in such a way as to pump fresh outside air into my flat. I can't abide any kind of smoke while I'm on the wagon.

Is that the same wagon you get on and off every week for the last 30 years?

Perhaps?
It may be a little red one. And no, it is not 'covered'.
