seriously, any non-Liberal basher please?

i have the impression that Liberal fans don't want to pay taxes, don't want immigration, don't want extra government spending, etc. or is it because they hate the Labor state government, and by extension also hate the federal Labor?

Wyzz, I don't think many would take up your invitation when the level of debate here and in the media is as sophisticated as schoolkids discussing their football team.

Yes I too voted for Howard purely cause I couldnt stand the other contenders.
I come from a staunch labor area up in the Hunter Valley.

So I think its a vote for Gillard with something about voting the Greens into the Senate ?

Tony Abbott is a major dick head so not a chance of getting a vote from me.

there is just a complete lack of policy this year... last time they had the same policies which is why that dick KR got in... but this time nada from both sides! TA is human... he just doesn't think before he speaks or acts... I actually don't mind that quality in a politician... makes them more real!

I don't think there's much point in going on about the physical and personal characteristics of the so-called leader. We are going the same way as the US where the leader is more of a figurehead/ speechmaker. The backroom boys deposed Rudd and chose an exquisitely-groomed model in NSW.

Does anyone seriously think what happened to Rudd won't happen to Abbott if he became PM? Half of the Liberal caucus can't stand him and I suspect his rise to leader was only due to the fact they thought they had no chance at this election. Even the most hardcore Liberal voters I know, are considering voting against him because they know he will be an embarrassment to Australia.

In a crazy way- I kind of wish Tony Abbott would get elected just to see how fucking mental things get.

It would only be a matter of weeks before someone in his own party got his Brutus on and stabbed him Caeser style in parliament.
It is no measure of health- to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

Never voted Liberal.

Not voting ALP again.

Voted Greens ONCE.

If it wasn't for the ASP I would be keeping up my informal voting schtick.

They will also stop Australia's involvement in the UN after they breach international law by turning boats away.

Meanwhile I thought this was quite funny.

Kerry obrien on 7.30 report tore abbott apart. Their whole campaign against labour has been that they are spending too much. Yet when abbott got questioned on what they would have done with the world financial crisis, he answered that they would have done the same thing. Kerry trapped him with his own words and proved taht labour wasn't spending any more that they would have been in the same position.

i'm voting liberal in the house.

why:
  • my LNP candidate Wyatt Roy is only 20 years old. it would be fantastic to finally have some youth in parliament.
  • he grew up here and his family's farm is here
  • i've never even seen my labour member Jon Sullivan except on election posters 3 years ago and now. he does nothing. i don't know how he can cash his paycheck without being struck by lightning.

if we had a direct democracy i might vote for gillard + my local LNP candidate, but we don't.

I think not being part of the UN is a plus as its basically just a wankfest.
As for voting liberal I think its biggest attraction is its not labor...after all it makes you dry reach listening to Julia say what a great man kevin rudd is and all he achieved.yet she was the one that knifed him.
I say vote in libs for one term to tell labor to pull its head in,it is no wonder they hadn't been in power for so long.

I love the way people think that Julia Gillard personally knifed Kevin Rudd for the PM position! Its all about who has the numbers and who the person with the most numbers thinks will keep them in power. Thats what our votes are.....numbers that decide who gets power. Political campaigns are all about telling voters what they think we want to hear in order to get our votes. Only politicians who have nothing to lose can say what they really mean (like the Greens) because they won't get enough votes to win in their own right.

but liberal voters have right to speak up. if they believe in liberal policies whys should they not stand up and defend their policy positions? if majority of australians vote liberal this saturday, we can possibly conclude this is a retard country then.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone understands what caucus does!

As for Liberals getting the shit kicked out of them if they post here: if people can justify their reasoning for their decisions fair play to them. I hate it when people vote (for Labor OR Liberal) "because I'm a <insert party> voter". The world NEEDS swing voters!!!

I voted Liberal in the SA election. So sad they lost.

its the tone of the question that i take exception to - its like a collingwood supporter being baffelled about how anyone could support richmond - what makes collingwood so great?

You're voting cause of the age and background of the candidate? What about policy? I saw an interview with Wyatt Roy... he seemed like a major arrogant dick.

It is very hard not to be cynical about a 20 year old running for politics.

I tried to find out if this kid has got a degree at least... because he sure hasn't been out there in the workforce or lived a life long enough to shape a strong inner conviction/philosophy of how he believes Australia is and should be. This is the very example of a career politician, and unlike the new member for Higgins, he isn't even going to do the rounds as a staffer first.

This seat must be relatively safe for Labor for the LNP to have endorsed Roy.
