Rally: End the Housing Crisis, No More Band-Aid Solutions
BYO DRUMS, TENTS & BAND-AID PROPS
When: Friday, November 12 · 4:30pm - 6:30pm
Where: Housing Minister Richard Wynne's Office, 112 Smith St, Colingwood
Join MC Rod Quantock and prominent speakers tell us how the housing crisis is impacting on vulnerable people, and set up camp as a drumming troupe drums Dick Wynne out of office.
With the State election looming, it's time for ALP Housing Minister Richard Wynne to face facts. He has overseen sky-rocketing rents, a huge increase in the public housing waiting list and attempts to privatise public housing.
It's time we called the ALP to account and demand an end to the housing crisis.
• Greatly expanded investment in public housing
• An end to privatisation and the corporate control of public housing
• Legislation to limit rent increases
• An end to illegal evictions
• An improvement in standards for rooming houses & the prosecution of rogue operators
• Increased funding for housing cooperatives
• Support for green housing
