Im sorry but Im old enough to know that Vanilla Ice was not cool the first time around in fact he was just as bad if not worse than Melissa Tkautz. Maybe they should get together. Two tragic one hit wonders attempting to cash in on their former glories, they might be on to something. Dont know why samesame keeps promoting these pathetic has beens. Why dont they promote someone with some real cred for a change.
The whole glorification of anything retro over the past few years is nauseating. Everywhere you go theres 16-20 year olds celebrating the things that were bad enough the first time around let alone a second. One example Ive noticed is kids making a fashion statement by wearing t-shirts with 'punk' across them yet punk was so not about fashion and Im sure they dont even know what irony is.
Fair enough if something was good then yes lets look back and enjoy it again but the lack of selectivity about it is appalling. Wheres the new ideas, are the younger generation so stunted by too much tv and internet that they cant come up with anything new anymore? I mean Melissa Tkautz and Vanilla Ice, please give it break!

Vanilla Ice was at North Gong hotel on NYE, and at 60 bucks a ticket, the place was packed! I missed him because i was out on the balcony drinking and chatting with mates, but apparently he was booed... Poor lad!! LOL

Im sure the north gong hotel would have been packed on NYE whether he was there or not. Doesnt suprise me that he was booed, hes tragic. Hope they threw bottles at him lol

hey marly, if you read the vanilla ice article you'll see that it's pretty tongue in cheek. i'm with you, vanilla ice was never cool and after seeing him in the reality tv show 'the surreal life' it's really obvious that he lives life on a hair trigger. scary.

vanilla ice was cool when i was growing up - i remember everyone would piss their pants when ice ice baby was played at the school disco.

but then again, everyone i went to school with was a total piece of shit so you can't really go by them.

Well I suppose it depends on your age, I mean the spice girls were cool for 10 year olds. When 'ice ice baby' came out I was already a regular at club hordern dancing to early house so Vanilla was def not cool in that scene.
