At the January Brissie SS meetup yesterday in the rain at New Farm Park it was suggested that people may be interested in a day trip too Ipswich to have a BBQ at John and Mark's place. We are only a 7 minute walk from Ipswich railway station or you could organise a lift with another samesamer if you have no transport.

This would be:
two weeks after the Kangaroo Point cliffs BBQ on 5 February.
Arrive late morning for BBQ lunch.
A short stroll through River Heart Parkland (if its not flooded!)
Bring food to BBQ (vegetarians will be catered for) and your own drink

Its on the 5th of February. Samesame Brisbane regular meetups are on the first Saturday of the month. That why the January meetup was on New Years Day. Kobi has put up a Kangaroo Point BBQ for late January 2 weeks before the February meetup. John and I have also invited some of our gay friends to the February meetup at our place.

All Ipswich trains terminate at Ipswich Station which is where anyone coming by train needs to disembark. From there its a short walk or I can meet people at the station with the welcome wagon.

Some ticket prices Central to Ipswich:

• Single journey paper tickets $7:30 Adults
• Single Journey paper ticket $3.70 Concession
• Off Peak Daily Adult paper ticket is $11.
• GoCard Off Peak Adult single journey $4.50

Maybe Faeriegoddess could offer you company out to Ipswich depending on her transport plans as she will be coming from NSW just over the border? Otherwise if you come from GC to Brisbane by train just change at Roma Street to the Ipswich line.

Use Google Maps to get more details (Search on Ipswich Railway Station). Our house is 700m from the station. Slightly less if you cut across the park.

I can pile people into my big lesbian car if anyone needs a lift.

I am happy to pick people up from the train station and transport them to the residence of Bascia 2 Just let me know.

somehow I read the OP as being 2 weeks after the BBQ which is on the 5th, and translated that to mean the meetup will be on the 19th.
but since it's on the 5th, I might be able to make it... have to see. If I do go, I'll be passing through the gold coast to get there and can possibly collect people on the way.

assuming the waters have receded and all the roads are clear by then.

Hi boys. That's sounds great I would love to come along but I have a show on the Gold Coast that night. I keep having to decline... the last time I got to a Same Same meetup was in like 2010. But I will get along to one. I will!
