Default Business Shirts
Where do you buy them and what brands do you choose?

I generally go to Myer or David Jones, but for the money they are mostly crap. I bought Industrie shirts at two different times and the second lot were much worse than the first. Both were quite cheap, creased easily, faded quickly, the buttons weren't stitched on properly and were difficult to iron. I bought some Ben Sherman shirts last time which fitted better and didn't crease as easily. They don't seem to have much of a variety though. Brooksfield look the nicest of the lot, but arm length is a problem.

Tailor made. Its cheaper than you think and you get to choose the fabric, buttons, collar etc. Lots of bespoke places popping up in town, they usually outsource to Asia, so an even cheaper option is to take your own measurements and then send them to a tailor that someone can reccomend for you OS. Even with postage and handling its waaay cheaper and still better quality than most designer crud you pay a fortune here for.

Or, just go shirtless...

I look in Myer mainly or one of the other malls.

Last year got a couple of Rodd and Gunn shirts as I prefer plain colours rather than
stripes/dots etc and quality seems quite good and decent price if on sale.

I quite like Counrty Road i find they have better quailty than some of the other brands you find in a department stores.

And i really wanna splurge I end up going Authur Galan or Calibre. Their shirts start about $150 upwards but the cut and fit of the shirt is second to none.

Thanks! I've been looking for some more decent online shopping sites. I'm there right now browsing. I hate physically shopping. It makes me bored and angry. Online shopping is relaxing and enjoyable.

Business shirts are the bane of my work day. They either fit me in the body with sleeves that barely go past my elbows or are long enough for my arms and I could invite a few friends in to fill out the rest. And don't start me on neck sizes - it's just lucky I rarely have to wear a tie.

I tried Industrie too. Lovely shirts until you've had them on for 5 seconds after which they look like they're never seen an iron.

I think I'll take the Bearer family advice and start going to work shirtless.

I get shirts, suits and jeans made through a website makeyourownjeans.com brilliant as the fabric quality is good, made to your measurements, and is very very well priced. They even make replicas of old clothing.yes it does take 14-21 days to receive them in the mail, but I now have corned no one else has, and at a fraction of the cost.

industrie & yd were my faves but the quality has slipped in last few years.

last time i did shirt shopping i scoured the outlet stores, only to find they all sell cheap shitty versions of their previous good stuff.

the best fit & value i found were at kmart. yes kmaaart. but then, i am built like a trucking bogan, so maybe that's just me..

Totka is right. Bespoke are not as expensive as most people believe. The fit and quality of the shirts are better than the pre-made ready to wear and you can have them made to suit your own style needs.

Yd., Tarocash and Country Road are among of the brands that I've tried. Personally I think Country Road is one of the best. Good Styling and quality but kinda expensive...

Luckily I'm allowed to dress a bit casually unless there are some presentations to make.

You rich bastard!

My budget doesn't allow me to spend that much money on those expensive shirts. Online shopping can save some money and gives you a wider range of choices but the thing is you can't try it on before you make the decision to buy it. What if it's too large or too small?
