lol they work really well together which is one of their big strengths. I agree that the girl is probably a little better a cook but watching them you can see they both know what they are doing.

I wouldnt be surprised to see the italian gals with their own tv show and seeing more of kane and lee but the girls although brilliant cooks are boring whingers without that interesting I want to watch them factor.

And now its only 2 and1/2 weeks until the start of masterchef. Seriously, with all these cooking competition/reality shows on tv , eventually ratings will struggle and viewers will get sick of it, I know i already am.

i am so sick of cooking shows. masterchef willl seriously suffer as a result coz of this flood of celebrity cooks.

Masterchef is pretty much going the same way as Big Brother and Australian Idol did. Both BB and AI wereboth massive hit shows when they first started, but then ch.10 decided to flog the shit out of them at any given opportunity and viewers got sick of it, ratings took a dive and both shows eventually got axed.And don't get me started on what the former conestants of these are doing now.

I love these cooking shows! Its renewed my interes tin cooking. I say if your no tinto it then don't watch them. Ratings are still the highest for them

I dont watch them, but i keep hearing/reading about them wherever i go just like I did with Big Brother and Aus. Idol. Cooking shows are in fashion atm, but like fashion itself many trends and fads come and go pretty quickly and the sad thing is people like Julie Goodwin, Kane & Lilly etc. are put on pedistals,given all the media asskissing and treated like B-list celebrites.....until the public get sick of them and move on the the next tv fad/trend.

Are you kidding? They lost simply cause they were outdone by the opposition, not beacuse one of them is openly gay.They made final, if they were being victimised by extensive bigotry and hatred then they probably would have been elimated weeks ago.

And what the fuck is the Matthew Mitcham factor and what on earth as he got to do with Kane and Lilly losing the final? Last time i checked Matthew Mitchem WON a gold medal, and he won because he had talant and trained hard, not because of his sexuality and he was open about being gay before he competed in the Bejing games.

well I don't know where you got that frm but I believe it was close and they lost because the asian cuisine they offered didnt appeal as much to the juges as you may have noticed none of them are asian cuisine chefs its no surprise their tastes and desires lie with the more european cuisine of the other girls.

I dont get why they got 10 though and risotto? how boring. it looked liek shit lol obviously I dont like rissotto hehe.

anyways at the end of this its obvious who we will see mroe of which is kane and lee and the italian chicks they ahev so much more persoanlity

cooking shows have alwyas been popular, I agree that there is an increased fashionable fad at moment with the reality aspect

From what I heard, the girls cooked a much more technically difficult meal, plus they have showed variety throughout the series. Notice how the other team ALWAYS cooked Asian meals whenever they had a a choice? Not a lot of variety.

For you to claim bigotry that a gay team came 2nd out of 12th (not to mention all the other straight teams that DIDN'T get through) actually does worse for how gays are perceived than for a team with one gay member to "not win" a show like this.

It took me about half a second of watching Kane to realise that he was almost certainly gay. I also realised that he was probably being himself and not putting on a persona.
How is that acting like a freak show?

Thinking back to past reality shows, Masterchef series 2 had an open gay in the final 4, and I think a second in the final 6.

Big brother one year had an open (and VERY flamboyant) gay in the finals and he only lost by a few percent. This was astounding because he was actually an "Intruder" and they generally have NO chance at winning.

Also Talkin' Bout Your Generation features a homosexual Josh Thomas on as a main cast member. Ruby Rose has appeared several times.

We have a variety of different types of LGBT characters on Australian TV, but it seems like if someone is "too gay" then it's a network exploiting a "freakshow", but if they are "straight acting", then it's the network "playing safe".

I took an instant disliking to Kane as not only did I not like his personality but I didn't find their food to be that impressive (as far as I could tell). I was very surprised that their team was in the finals, but very relieved that they didn't win.
