Labyrinth- Always have loved this film, David Bowie was fantastic in this, with his crazy rock star hair\makeup and the infamous codpiece.

I can not begin to count the amount of times that I watched this as a child. I can immediately recall many random lines from the movie without a thought haha.

Oh me too! I kept watching this even when the tape was so worn out it was mostly white noise!

Not so much, I saw it a few years ago and found that I had forgotted a lot of it. I still remember all the songs though - discovered a few lyrics I had "misheard".

It's always fun putting on a bad cockney accent and pretending to be Bert haha. My friend and I were bored at work and I started spinning this story how the children were actually dead and Mary Poppins was their Guardian Angel easing their transition into the afterlife. She bought it especially when I said their original nanny killed them by poisoning their medicine, hence why they're scared of drinking medicine...

Lion King- I miss the old days where Disney made wonderful movies like this, instead of the Hanna Montana/Jonahs Bros crap today.

WUUU LION KING, i also went to watch the pokemon movies when i was like 5 or something the mewtwo one
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.

Masters Of The Universe (1987)- Loved it as a kid but now it's a lot more cheesier then I remember it as, although of saying that Frank Langella is awesome as Skeletor, and was easily the best thing of the movie.

Masters of the Universe needed a much bigger budget, but of course they did on the cheap by having it set mostly on Earth.

Hopefully there will be a new version in a couple of years on a grand budget and NOT set on Earth!

I grew up on musicals, Mary poppins, My Fair Lady, Singing in The Rain, Calamity Jane, West Side Story and later The Rocky Horror Picture Show. No wonder I have a faint grip on reality!
But really, apart form the movies that were shown on ABC on a Sunday arvo, the only movies we watched were at the drive-in. I pity all people who never experienced a drve-in!
Being smuggled in under the blankets on the back seat of the holden, eating those marshmallow/icecream things at intermission!
I saw Star Wars at the drive-in and the first Mad Max movie.
First movie that made me cry was Watership Down...poor bunnies!

But back then there were so fewer movies brought out each year. It was expensive to make a movie and actors weren't payed quite as much?? Everyone saw the same movies, Star Wars, ET, Ghostbusters! And then video came in! (What an old fart am I!) And heaps of crap movies became widely available.

A couple of my faves are "The Princess Bride" and "Labyrinth" oh and "The Karate Kid:and anything with Jackie Chan in!
Most of these are movies that my kids can watch years later and still find cool.

Ha and here i was thinking my parents were the only tight arses who would hide you under a blanket to go to the drive-in.
