I think it's OK for gay people to use the term faggot. It's the same is black rappers calling themselves ******s and asians, such as Margaret Cho, calling themselves chinks. They are totally offensive terms coming from outsiders (and rightly so) but not so when used on yourself. It's about context.

Guys, I don't think you quite understand the concept behind this group. I've been following them for a couple of years now and they are sort of much taking the piss.. They are an immersive art project - they live their lives by these ridiculous identities. They know how ridiculous they're being and it's almost a joke. It's what makes them so great. In no way are they taking themselves seriously.. You can't really make broad statements about them because they are honestly nothing like what you've seen before

I think it's a slippery slope. We start calling each other "faggot,"and then we empower more bigots to use that word because it's now perceived as being "ok." It's arrogant to presume that everybody is ok with using that word. If we respect ourselves, then we look like idiots when we perpetuate bigotry used against us.

If you don't like what he's saying, simply don't listen to it. Anyone can find anything offensive, you don't have to be gay to be offended by the terminology used. If you don't like what DJ Hi-Tek has to say, then turn the song off when it gets to his part. Not that hard. I personally don't like his part in the song, not because of what he has to say, I find how he says it to be obnoxious... I turned it off.
