EDIT: gym this morning (yep right when it was pouring down) - we don't get much of the 'jock itch' going on, more shirt lifting and quickly checking the abs in the mirror. It's not only a gym thing, I've always noticed that young straight guys re-arrange thenselves a lot, particlularly when they're in groups of two or more. You don't see it with gay men or in countries other than Australia - I've specifically watched for it when I've been overseas.

I assume it's some sort of alpha male kind of thing, kind of like a subconcious "mines bigger than yours", but why it's specific to Australian straight men is beyond me.
