Default Lesbians choose their BOYS!
Papoose went and had a look at the finalist profiles to find out about all the "good things" that were being done for the lesbian community.

However none of the finalist profiles featured any such content, which is rather odd for a contest "which aims to promote great ladies doing good things in the lesbian community". Actually the contest had asked the finalists questions that were as vapid as a beauty contest... Beach or Pool?, for example.

If you could rule the world what is the first thing you would change?
How would your friends describe you?
Would you do anything for love?
You're writing your own wedding vows - what would they say?
What qualities do you think our BOY should embody?
Cat or dog?
Bath or shower?
Beach or Pool?

If you could rule the world what is the first thing you would change? Some people out there don't have maps, and I believe that our education like such as South Africa and the Iraq, everywhere like, such as. I personally believe that everyone has a right to map.

Kinda related (well, maybe not so much). The company I used to work for decided we couldn't have Xmas parties anymore because it might offend non-christians, so instead we had End of Year, or EOY parties. Then the company discovered it was cheaper to have these parties in January rather than December.

Imagine my dissapointment when I found out the BOY party I had been invited to was the Beginning of Year party.

Hi there ,
i understand where some of you are coming from the small portion of questions that were put up on line and also in the latest lotl magazine may have you thinking . we are not passionate about our sexuality our culture our community and present issues the glbti face or the hell we have coped for centuries
when the call for the boy of the year was put out we had 15 or so questions to answer some cute and funny and some serious what are you doing in your community or what should a boy winner embody ect.
i am a passionate person about alot of issues i am a strong young woman who will stand up for what i believe in . i have been raised by my amazing strong beautiful mother i believe in equality i believe in so many things i have morals i am brave i am beautiful inside as well as out. i am disappointed that this had coped harsh words without a full understanding of what it ment to a lot of the women to enter to face social fears maybe , personal confidence issues a plethora more id say. i am so much more and i would say without meeting the rest of the top 15 that they are also beautiful souls.
we should be working together and yet your judging being negative and i think it says more about you than it does about the contest the women and the magazine ect.
my submission was picked not because of my looks but my answers. this contest is about finding someone to represent the gay community not some silly thing about good looking girls taking their clothes off.

the questions your referring to our in our actual original submission . they are not the ones your see up online ,they were just some extra last minute ones to be put with out photos which are also different to our original pics that were sent in with our in depth submission
For my community i volunteer for tropical fruits northern rivers i help in the local fair days. i console local lgbti in my town. i am out i am proud.
i don't hide it. i don't let any homophobic slurs pas my ears with questioning them and i will not allow any one to attack me my friends my sexuality

Defensive much. Looks to me that the issue raised was the quality of the questions, not the answers. Which reflects badly on the writers and editors not the contestants.
I'm quite happy to start nit-picking the answers though if it makes you a better maryter.

I was saying that these are some of the reasons i was piked (im assuming) . i wasn't saying anyone here was being homophobic( the things i wrote about myself was merely an site into who i am ..if one was thinking the contestants had no thoughts other than peach or pool ect) . i was responding to what was said above. 'that it is maybe pick the bimbo or that no answers were put up about community ect.'
Im here to let everyone know that there is more to it than they quickly assumed , and i thinks it unnecessary to attack the competition, writers magazine who ever, there is no need .

I loved the wedding vowels
Haven't we learned over the past two days that if we all pull together we can become greater than the sum of our parts. That if we are of one mind and one intent, there are no boundaries to what we can achieve

Reading these comments requires a degree of effort that I am not quite sure I can muster. Can you run them through a grammar and spell-checker and re-post?

Even if more profound questions were asked in the intitial selection (and I can only take your word for that), people are being asked to vote on the basis of mindless crap.

Maybe you could give us a selection of the other questions that were asked?

Those women in the contest need to take a lesson from Michelle Obama and toughen up, especially Elli4Equality! Honestly I don't know what they where thinking when they entered a contest based on replication of patriarchial meat grading.

Intelligence, imagination and athleticism is what a competition should be based on. Not answering inane vapid questions and posing like bogan straight 'chicky babes' out of Picture magazine.
