I think straight people, women specifically, have more of a problem with bisexuals. I've heard a woman call her bisexual boyfriend a faggot in rhe middle on an argument.

At least gay people have a legitimate fear that a bisexual partner will often leave them for an opposite sex partner as it's more socially acceptable and comes with an easier path to have children. Surely bisexual people understand this train of thought that gay people have? Because there is nothing we can do about society being more accepting of your opposite sex r'ship. All we can do is avoid being hurt.

Heres another complexity, dont confuse sex with love. I have had relationships with women not men, for me guys have been nothing more than a physical attraction.

I have fuck buddies and they are mates, Ive questioned myself if Ive shut out guys without knowing or thats just how it is with me, we are all wired differently. My shrink (I doubt he's qualified) has assured me that if I left myself open to the possibility of having an emotional relationship with a guy it doesnt make me any gayer. Is that what I was afraid of, if I could love a guy, heaven forbid I must be gay.

All I ask is we respect each others choices, even if they differ to your own.

I think for those who are primarily attracted to one sex alone, it can be a very difficult concept to wrap your head around. The willingness to atleast try to understand the fluidity of sexuality for some people is quite nice to see - it's better than people just dismissing it at first instance for a 'phase', a 'confusion', or a 'promiscuity'. I stopped identifying myself as 'bisexual' a while ago because I didn't like the connotations attached - I don't like boxes (and I also don't believe in gender constructs very much). If I need to explain myself I usually call myself "pan" or "omni". I love the looks on peoples faces - what a hoot! I just believe in love and I am attracted to whomever I am attracted to. It doesn't really matter what they have between their legs if our minds have met happily. That's just me though, it's not going to be the same for everyone. I do get a touch annoyed by gay, lesbian and straight people who try to define my sexuality for me - or say my sexuality does not exist because it doesn't fit a box. Some of my friends still hold out hope I will join one team or the other (it's quite cute really - everyone wants you on their team for the purposes of a later world domination scheme or some such thing... but it can be frustrating). Come on guys, are we really still living in a world where we have to fight to be understood? I suppose we are a little... sigh.

I understand your frustrations King Nothing and have felt them many a time before myself! However it is easy to get angry at those that just don't understand. It's harder (but better in the long run) to forgive their ignorance. As my mother always says, the best revenge is living well. She also often says "two tears in a bucket, motherfuck it".
