when lazzarus (david) first appeared on ss some months ago i felt a good connection and energy with him - enjoyed his posts, his humour. we were similar age and when i posted a cpl of my childhood fotos in a thread, lazz asked me if he could see some more of them

he had told me - and some others - that he was dying and spent most of his days bed-ridden

there were a number of us that he had said this to

th fotos were attached to my facebook account and cos i have high privacy settings, i added lazz as a friend. he replied that he was real grateful as even tho th fotos were not of him, they brought back fond memories for him thru th clothing, landscapes, etc

a few days after easter, there was an email from lazz's partner 'mike' who told a few of us that lazz had gone into hospital on good friday and had been in an induced coma since. lazz had previously told me in a PM that he was going into hospital soon and didnt expect to be coming home

so imagine th surprise when a cpl of weeks later lazz was back posting on ss - tho a few of those posts stated that it was mike posting for him

his facebook a/c and all email addresses that a few of us had for him were also deactivated

and then th other day cicatrix appears

and th language of a few posts got a few of us thinking - confused

could cicatrix and lazz be th same person

so a PM to cicatrix - who are you? (with no mention of lazz at all) and th reply: we're 3 of dr. david's students, quickly followed by another 2 PMs - th third one stating that lazz (david) had passed away 8 days ago (from saturday) meaning last thu week, and that cicatrix had always been th person operating lazz's ss account from day 1

so now im left feeling really confused

and tbh have dealth with PMs bac and forward for th past 48 hours between a cpl of ss members and now just gonna put th cards on th table

theres ppl who are upset/angry and th truth needs to be told

Cicatrix only needed to come on here and tell us all that Lazz had died 8 days ago, that they had been responding on behalf of Lazz but they didnt.

You can type a reply for someone BUT Lazz's sense of humour/sarcasm/witty replies cannot be learnt. You either have that trait or you dont. Cicatrix has that trait as we have all read ?

I just dont want any SameSamer swapping stories/pics etc with Cicatrix to have the same thing that has happened to others.

I've been diligently checking death notices in Adelaide papers since the last day he posted and have found none that could have been Lazz.

but cicatrix is an arse...unlike Lazzarus.

So Lazz=Cicatrix=alive and well thus not dying?

Only Cicatrix can tell us. We want him to be straight and honest with us.

It's not quite so simple. A number of us have been mourning him, and some had a real emotional investment and these shenanigans have hit hard. I just hope in his afterlife (not that I believe in such a thing) he is surrounded by lots of goats.

That's where the confusion comes in. It seems like there are two possibilities, either cicatrix is Lazz and the whole thing was some sort of sick prank all along, or Lazz really was who he said he was and now someone else is either playing a really, really sick joke or has been posting comments that sound eerily like Lazz unintentionally. Either way, we don't know if someone is intentionally being an arsehole and, if so, who.

Cicatrix, if as you say, you are someone who was caring for Lazz and knew him well, I'm sure you can understand that there are a few people on here who were very close to him and have been totally thrown for a six by this. If this is all pefectly innocent and a misunderstanding please consider letting people know what's really going on. If Lazz really was who we all thought he was and really did pass away 10 days ago, people have a right to grieve, and not be left wondering if they've been taken completely for a ride by some con artist.

if he could speak over the phone so well he was unable to type for himself ?

His partner cancelling Lazz and his own personal emails before Lazz "died". Why delete his own personal email ? then to say he was creating a new email account and for a SS'er to contact him on that but didnt give the address.

Lazz and Michael ( his partner ) saying they would make sure a certain SS'er would be told of Lazz's "death".

That Lazz and Cicatrix would have identical senses of sarcasm whether you liked it or not ?

Like others I was grieving for Lazz , was especially concerned for him after my mother died of cancer and kept in touch to try and keep things
positive, to give whatever support I could.

We heard nothing.

I am now more concerned for other younger more vulnerable SS'ers becoming friends with Cicatrix and swapping their true life stories for
someone's lies.

Far as I am concerned Cicatrix has done nothing but sully the name of Lazz with all this subterfuge. Should have been upfront in the first place
about Lazz "dying" and what their role was in all this and we probably would have been none the wiser.

Sounds more like a fucking script for Days of our Lives.

I think this is a good lesson to everyone about cyber safety. A few of the more wiser folk on SameSame even got fooled by this fiasco and just shows it can happen to anyone.

For those who did get involved with the 'Lazzarus' situation, don't blame or be too hard on yourselves. You're not the fault for any of this, your trust and goodwill were taken advantage of.

Yeah, being sucked in so massively can do that to you. I think a few of you guys got way more closer to Lazz than I did, so at least I had that bit more emotional distance bewteen the profile and myself. Not that I wasn't sad when I heard he'd died, but still conflicted feelings on the subject now.
