Default Ali Hogg is sure to be crowned winner in this year's SameSame 25 Competition

I haven't heard the back-room goss yet but Ali Hogg's speech at the recent Melbourne rally (pictured below) is sure to make her a shoo-in as winner this year. She won the Absolut Vodka People’s Choice Award last year and got spectacular coverage for her efforts in The Age newspaper just six months ago (above).

In the top picture she wears a dress that says word 'Respect'.

Quite ironic considering she showed a complete lack of respect a few weeks ago when she aggressively barged into a melboure cafe started screaming and shouting at Tony Abbot and innocent fellow diners and staff before being physically ejected.

IMO she dosnt't deserve to be included in this years Samesame25. This year's recipients should be people who are passionate about the rights and welfare of the GLBTI community without resorting to embarrasing ambush tactics and aggressive behaviour.

If she wins it, it would be an insult to all former winners.
Anyway, this is a blatant plug for her.

If Ali Hogg does end up winning, can someone organise some suitable prizes for her......

........like a book on dining etiquette or gift voucher to spend at a hair salon.

The competition was delayed last year and this year so I assumed this invidious competition had been scrapped. But Matt told us last week that the organisers are still organising it.

it may just be a Melbourne thing. We can't understand why Melbourne thinks it's the Art Capital of Australia. And that Federation Square just tries too hard to be edgy. Just saying.

Sorry, just seen this. Thanks for the thread Mark. Yes the SS 25 is coming back, sorry it's delayed but we preferred to make it a mid-winter thing this year at a time when there's nothing much else going on.

True, Ali Hogg won the whole thing fair and square last year, she got loads of appreciative nominations and a huge number of votes making her our 'people's choice'. And true, her treatment of Tony Abbott recently was OTT. So it'll be interesting to see how she does this year.

We base the SS 25 on a blend of people with loads of nominations (we get hundreds) but we also try to favour people who are doing great things but are not necessarily in the public spotlight - new people you may not have heard about before. Always aiming to get a mixture. More details soon. xx

Yeah a bit of variety would be kewl. Samesame25 was becoming a bit like roll call at school but on a yearly basis and with the same people in the class......

Of course.

Yeah we gotta balance it out between previous recipients and new ones. Most of the nominations tend to be people who have been on the list before... then you end up thinking "well they do deserve it again." But I predict this year will feature lots of new faces. x
