technically it's not 'racist'. French, like Australian or American, is not a 'race' or 'ethnicity'. it's a nationality.

However I must admit I do have a soft spot for him. That video in the OP reminds me of how the French turned Grace Jones from a model into an art object. And there's a lovely video (which I can't find at the moment) where he's walking nude off a porn stage-set and accidentally treads on a cat's tail and he gets on his knees (nude) crooning Mon pauvre bébé to it.

I wonder if that 'eccentricity' comes out of his own head or if he's a muse to others. I heard he directed a US film but I can't see it on IMDB.

He has been in a few films, didn't know he directed one. He was in fashion before porn; I don't doubt for a minute that he is the driving force behind his fabulous public image, although obviously he picks stylists and designers etc to help him. He modelled for Belgian designer Bernard Wilhelm too.
