Until the day one, a couple, some or all of these lads come out as gay, bi, tri, queer or whatever we shouldn't speculate or make assumptions about their sexuality.

As far as I can see they are a just a group of guys who are comfortable with each other.

I think there might be something in what Mikey says. But, they're never going to come out - it would be a business disaster as they lost their main fan base - teenage girls.

Yet a lot of young guys act this way nowadays. 'Bromance' is becoming quite acceptable. I suspect a couple 1D members may be homosexual, yet it's not for us or anyone to speculate.

Even if a couple of them did come out I doubt it would really make a huge impact on their career in the U.S. or Europe since it would give them a broader fan base of teenage girls and gay men, which in most cases there isn't that much difference.

I can't see it's an issue if people speculate. These kids have a massive following; if a few people in a tiny forum in a tiny country choose to speculate, so what? It's totally different to outing someone to which I'm strictly opposed.

Well history almost agrees with Crazymikey.

Most popular boybands of the past such as N'sync, Wham, Westlife, Boyzone, Savage Garden, New Kids on the Block all had at least 1 gay bandmember, however I'm pretty sure all of them only publicly came out after their respective groups broke up.

Maybe the whole homoerotic teasing they have going on maybe just a PR stunt and part of a plot to get the band more media attention.

Female popstars have been to doing this for years. Suggestive lesbian lyrics, girl on girl action in music videos etc etc but at the end of the day they are still globally known to the public as straight. Madonna is usually the biggest culprit of this marketing technique.
