Well that was underwhelming. I thought it was going to be someone a bit more prominent.

well that's a bigger character than i expected!

but he's also one of the naffest (IMO apologies to any fans and lovers)

i don't understand though - which GL will it be?

I think he was the original lantern who first appeared in the 1940s, I am rather surprised it was a main character that is gay, instead of a sidekick or lesser character.

Although he is the original Green Lantern, he isn't the mainstream one. Without going into all the crazy details, he's basically an alternate universe version of Green Lantern.

I don't necessarily like that he is so suddenly gay. I hope they going to do some backstory to explain that - like flashbacks to him struggling with coming out to himself or falling for a man for the first time or leaving his wife?

To be fair, it wasn't just that they suddenly made him gay and ignored the fact that he was straight. Basically, this whole big thing happened which 'reset' the history of the entire world that he lives in. So everything has started again from scratch, meaning his life with a wife and kid etc never happened, and he has been gay all along. They changed things with other characters too. So it makes sense in context (kinda).

Whenever I have to explain something like this to someone who doesn't read comics it makes me realise how ridiculous they are. Seriously, stuff like this happens all the time.
