So I've started to see myself drinking a bit more than usual.

Meeting mates down the pub, hanging around at bars, martinis with dinner. Not all the time, but I think I'm drinking more than 4 dri ks a night about 4 times a month, roughly once a week.

So I've decided to engage with some councillors to look at the effects of drugs n alcohol (not that I'm taking drugs, but they always seem to go hand in hand, so I'm doing that too)

Tonight was my first one, it was quite interesting. We got given these goggles which simulate a BAL reading. We had to try the, on and all try and walk a straight line of tape, it was very funny watching people do this, as you would end up all over the place. The. As another exercise we had to wear them while racing each other on Daytona machines!

All in all a good laugh, but learnt some interesting things about the tolls that alcohol take on our bodies.

i love my liver so i don't drink that much.

I have discussed programs with a total of 5 councillors which I will do their classes when I can over the coming weeks.

I don't usually drink much at all either! This is the reason why I'm doing this, over the last 4 weeks, I've been out drinking once a week! Which is unlike me..

good work, I have been taste testing alcohol, only little sips, but I cannot stand the immediate aftertaste. SO I am taking little steps and having sips of alcohol when I feel like it. I am happy partying or hanging out with friends without me drinking, I will update on this page to see how I go, good luck doolander

Personally I don't drink or do drugs.

I love drinking I use to smoke dope and ciggys if I was allowed to grow dope were I am now I would still smoke it.

I would have thought once a week was OK ? the body needs a relaxer so long as its not a bender.

My body cant take alchohol at all and I just throw up so gave that up years ago. I enjoy a bit of powder but I can have leftovers and put it on the shelf and it stays there till next party and thats usually 6 months away. Dr once said to me he didnt think I had an addictive bone in my body.

I will have a wine/beer/cocktail for a friends birthday or some celebration but just one. Then its water. Sitting in the back lanes of Oxford St
hurling and in some of the most glamorous spots around the world is not a good look !

I make myself a few rules when it comes to alcohol.


1. Never drink at home
2. Never drink when Im alone
3. Only drink when surrounded by freinds or family for birthdays,dinner,weddings or some other celebration or event.
4. Never drink when stressed or feeling overworked.
5. Never drink to ease a fear or sadness.
6. Never drink to fill in time or to kill bordem.

I like those 6 rules. I'd add--

7. Stick to the same kind of alcohol in a 24 hour period-- beer OR wine OR spirits in the one night.

Don't mix them. because the kidneys take much longer to process a mixture.

When I was with a footy club, I only drank on Saturdays and I always limited myself to 1 or maybe 2, Jim Beam and colas, but now I cant drink at all cos of medication, but I never miss it anyway.

Wow after reading some of these posts I must be a bit of a trashy alco. I have been known to drink when out shopping, at the beach, while driving round with friends (not being the driver of course although I have driven home from friends drunk a number of times), while playing xbox-PS3 etc, before going to theme parks (too much fun), while skating & pretty much at all of the times those rules say you shouldn't. I almost always go through a range of different types when drinking. Wherever the feeling takes me I go with it. Nothing better than skating down the street in a animal costume off your tits. So much fun.

Hahaha actually I found that quite funny lol. I've only ever thrown up once when drunk...then again alcohol poisoning will do that too you.

I actually prefer to get drunk alone and only go out to drink maybe 5 beers the entire night. Not sure why but I've always preferred to get hammered at home with my mates here or just by myself. An no, contrary to popular opinion it isn't that lonely.

Oh well each to his own hey? Not that I thought it was funny when I did it. Personally I'd rather regret doing something than regret not doing it though. We only live once & all that shit.

When I use to drink all day every day I use to make myself throw up so I could keep drinking and it turns out that what you spew up rots your teeth. My dad was known as Bad News world wide we use to sail 16ft hobie cats he was well known to spew after his 3rd burp. Now you all know why Im so twisted and call myself bad tranny!

I can't stand people who are so anal about not taking drugs and drinking etc. They are usually very boring. Life is so short, enjoy it while you can. Everything in moderation. Having a couple of glasses of wine per night is acceptable and in fact its healthy. Id rather go out with a bang than fade away.
